Intro--a hello from a noob to the site

So I joined up to pixlbit a little after the announcement of 1up's end. I feel a little guilty of that, like I had scrambled to find another safe harbor for myself, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of 1up and have the same vibe here. So here I am, introducing myself to a new community.

My name is Rejo and while I have an intermittent history with gaming (I've gone years without keeping up during different stages of my life), I have always enjoyed it. I've also found pleasure in other entertainment that is tangential to video gaming. I love reading SF/fantasy books, tabletop gaming with friends, music and movies.

Late last year, a friend and I produced a podcast called Geeksnobs (find us at: http://geeksnobs.libsyn.com), where we would talk about various bits of this geeky life of ours. We're currently on hiatus as our lives have conspired to keep us from recording, but we hope to bring it back soon.

As for what I have boiling right now, I just started playing Bioshock Infinite, play Black Ops 2 fairly regularly with my clan, I'm about halfway through my run of Mass Effect on the PS3 and I'm catching up with Mad Men while waiting for Game of Thrones season 3 to start. I'm hoping to post my review on LittleBigPlanet soon, as I've just finished it and loved it beyond anything I had expected, as well as my thoughts on Mass Effect 2 and a few other games I haven't touched yet.

I'm also interested on getting a YouTube page started to post some gameplay; I'll be working that out over the next few weeks.

Well, here's hoping I have fun here and meet some new friends!

Welcome. rejo this is where pretty much all the 1up refugees came including myself and its just as good as 1up if not better Nick our Moderator here is awesome and will help with anything you need if one of us cant help,looking forward to your blogs and have fun.

Thanks! I was hoping to pick up on my blogging over at 1up, then the shut down was announced and I was hit with overtime at work.So I'll probably have quite a bit of stuff to post over the next couple of weeks.

Hello, Rejo, and welcome to Pixlbit!

I know how you feel about fleeing from 1up shortly after the closure announcement. I did the same exact thing, both to find a new home immediately and to avoid a protracted departure. Luckily, Pixlbit came with the highest recommendation for those of us looking for a tight knit community to be a part of.

That said, I look forward to reading your reviews. I'll see you around!

Welcome!! This is a great community and I actually like it better than 1 up. (Probably because I didn't join until the last year of it's life though). Anyway I look forward to reading your blogs.
