The Story So Far... (Btw, I beat Mega Man 2 for GameBoy)

Mega Man 2 GB Ending

To start off this blog I have only just watched a few videos on the Shadowrun editor. I’ll admit I have procrastinated but I will try to watch those videos the coming week. So far I know how to set up actors and assign spawn points for the avatar and hired runners. Though what would really help is a document with all the material in it so I can read it while I work on my module. Thing is the Wiki that has that information is gone (from the last time I checked) so now I’ll have to find another source for it. But once I get the project going I think I could do it with just some references here and there. In any case having a document for the editor is just the thing my new (hand-me-down) tablet could do, since this one has a functional micro USB port (the Kindle is alright but its port is horrible). While I will try to watch the videos and find a sort of manual I actually have some other matters to attend to, mostly with my moonlighting job.

My hobby of collecting things can of went made some flips. I was going to get back into MTG but seeing how little cards I have to work with (compared to shoe boxes of cards I’d say it’s little) I might put it off until I move back to Kansas (another blog for another day). I’m going back to figures, starting with Pokemon (of course). Also planning on picking up more Yo-Kai Watch medals though getting a Medallium may be some time later. I got another Goodwill game, though. I’ve watched a friend play it one evening (forgot what year it was) and well, how can I go wrong?

Mercenries

So probably like everyone today I went to my local comic book shop (Comic Book World) to pick up my freebies. Before I get to the one I found the most interesting I discovered that one of the capsule machines had something I was looking for (which I’ll show off at the end of this for dramatization). There’s an interesting story behind it. When I found it I asked if it had what I was looking for and lady said it did. I went to cashier (I assume the lady’s husband since this seemed like a Mom & Pop store) to exchange the dollar I had left for quarters. Went up to the machine, inserted the quarters, and nothing. It wouldn’t turn to take my quarters. I told the lady that I was having problems and she got her dad (I assume?) to help me out. What happened was that the fingers that made the mechanism work were made of plastic, and it looks like it was the cheapest bidder kind of plastic. I think it was two of the four fingers that were broken. So the old man let me look through the capsules for the one I was looking for. I might as well as give a hint to what it was since I’m going to bring up what the machine was filled with: I was looking for a particular Lantern Power Ring. The color I was looking for, however, wasn’t in there. Most of it was Blue and Violet rings, and strangely I found a Flash Costume Ring among the Power Rings (though at first I thought it was for Shazam p.a.k.a. Captain Marvel but then I remembered this tadbit from an episode of JLA). So the old man let me take the one I wanted from the display on top of the capsule machines, though this in turned knocked some of the other displays down when he was locking it back up. He said he found another dealer that had machine or mechanisms with metal fingers so let’s hope he can get his hands on those soon.

When I got home I was considering to paint the symbol so it would be easy to see (it’s mono color) but considering the hassle I must caused for that guy I decided not to. Along with that ring I was psyched about one of the free comics I got: it was a prelude to an upcoming revival to an old comic series that was apart of the Marvel universe so much that some of it stuck with future comics. Now I haven’t read the originals but the character and concept is something that peaked my interested since I heard of him. Originally a Parker Bros. Toy he became a hero thanks to the writers that were hired to promote him. Even though he is now being published by IDW I am still psyched. He is Lord of the Solstar Order, the Wraithslayer. Ladies and gentle, he is the Space Knight:

ROM Issue 0

You could say I’m looking forward to his future publication in July.

With gaming there are quite a few games I’m playing let alone will be playing. Of course there is Pokemon since Darkrai is being distributed this month as part of the Pokemon 20th Anniversary’s Monthly Mythical Pokemon Distribution. I’m also training a Charmander for a Charizard X build. And hopefully I’ll finish at least one of GenVI’s Pokedex before Pokemon Moon comes out. With the PC there are three titles. First there is “The Perfectionist.” It’s a game made with RPG Maker 2003(?) and so far I’m liking the demo. I think I’ll buy the full version when I get paid next time. Another RPG I will be playing is “Learn Japanese to Survive! Hiragana Battle.” I heard it’s a good Edutainment RPG game so I got it and I’m eager to try it out. Maybe I can learn Hiragana enough to play some imports. And finally there’s Skyrim, again. I was playing another called “Warface” (which is a pretty good F2P mercenary shooter) but I uninstalled it so I don’t take a lot space since I’m still playing it on Dad’s. In any case I’m going non-arcane thief again. But I think I’ll be utilizing my companions more often (which I guess I need to learn the mechanics to). As for side gaming: Curse of the Necrodancer, HuniePop (yes, I got that game), maybe AVGN Adventures, War: 13th Day (I still need to find the true ending), the Mercenaries game I just got, and maybe Breath of Death (though I might be stuck with the keyboard since it looks like my Nyko Airflo won’t work with it anymore).

And finally I think it’s time to give my Machinist (Steampunk Corsair) some Online work. I’m going to try to find some farming rooms during the rest of the weekend for a test run so I can see if my connection will be fine.

As always, links to my articles at the bottom. Till next time…

I've never played any of the Mega Man games for Game Boy.

They're different from the NES series for sure. In fact I think MM2 for GameBoy came out after MM3 for NES since four the Robot Masters from 3 are the last four in the GB game.

ROM! I love ROM!  I had some comics when I was a kid and they were SO weird.  I've always had a soft spot for him.  I'm definitely going to buy these new ones.

I think it's cool you're thinking of making a shadowrun adventure.  I'd love to do that.  Can you import your own artwork and whatnot?

I think you can import resources but I'll have to get back to you on that.

I've heard of ROM from Atop of the Forth Wall. Issue 0 was a good prelude to the events about to unfold on Earth. This is one comic series I'm going to buy, more than Archie Sonic comics.

Since the comic is licensed by Hasbro maybe we'll see some figures too.
