Bill stops and looks at the wastelands that was once a thriving metropolis. Zoey look over at Bill and asks:

"Bill, what could have caused the damage we are now seeing?" Before Bill can answer he is attacked by a Scavenger. The group quickly dispatches the Scavenger and gets Bill back to his feet.

"Well, Zoey, to answer your question, it was probably a nuclear explosion as a last ditch effort to control the outbreak."

"Yeah you can see how well that worked" snarled Francis. Bill sees a small building with a radiation sign posted on the side. Bill slowly opens the door and discovers haz-mat suits. Louis looks in.

"Francis, now they have a suit that will even repel your caustic breath."

Zoey looks doubtfully at the suits and says "if these were to protect the wearer why are there so many here that weren't used?"

"Maybe they had a surplus" answers Louis.

"Is that possible Louis?" asked Bill.

"Anything is possible, but I think that maybe they didn't have time to get them on."

" Well I am all for taking some just in case," states Francis. The group each take two and they again start out for Los Angeles. When low and behold they hear a sound coming from a small group of Quonset huts. As they group gets closer they hear coming from the area, "You have almost reached safety, just keep traveling south, and God speed."

"That's a military radio, we are going the right way and we are getting closer to rescue all the time." Billy informed, trying to keep his spirits high. The group decides to investigate the compound before they continue. That could be their biggest mistake yet.
