Vindication.

For years, I preached about my dislike for Microsoft. That they didn't care for their customers. That they treated these customers like they were all buccaneers. That they would nickel-and-dime people to death. That they didn't care about quality when it came to their hardware. That they would defecit spend their way to success since they could. People continued to support this company that treated them like fecal matter when it came to customer service or  talked down to their customers at press conferences.

Payback is a bitch, Microsoft!

No DRM, used games allowed, a partnership with the hottest girl on the block in Destiny, PS+ online that actually gives you free games and discounts as well as online and a console with more power for $100 less? The PS4 already has won this generation before it even started,

Seeing everybody finally seeing Microsoft for what they are is akin to that episode of Star Trek where those kids see that Marvin Belli is a fraud. Seeing them all jumping to PS4 was pure vindication.

Microsoft spent a billion dollars for their new franchises but ain't nobody going to care if they are going to be full of DRM and other ridiculous crap. Who is going to pay $500 plus Xbox Live when there's better for cheaper?

Sony knew that someday they were going to get their opportunity to capatalize on Microsoft's greed and selfishness. It started on February 20, continued on May 21 and ended on June 10.

Game, set and match, Sony!

Enjoy trying to sell your brick to casuals because they will see the price difference and realize it's a joke, Microsoft.

My work is done. Pre-ordering my PS4 tomorrow.

I can't wait to see the pro-Microsoft video game media try and spin this.

Judging from the people over at Major Nelson's blog, these CoD fans are probably ready to jump to Destiny on PS4. Sony grabbed exclusivity rights behind Microsoft's back. So while MS is stuck with aging franchises like CoD and Battlefield, Sony has the fresh faced girl crafted by Bungie in their corner.

Microsoft did all of Sony's work for them. Sony just had to sit back, watch, and they were ready at every turn at E3. They just did to the Xbone what they did to the Saturn. Microsoft got sodomized.

It was like 1995 again. Clearly, Microsoft didn't learn from history. Sony did.

That's exactly it, Brian. Microsoft got caught up in its own arrogance and hubris, a la Nintendo when they announced cartridges for the N64 and Sony when they announced a $600 price point for the PS3. The difference is, Sony was able to turn things around. I don't think MS is going to be able to turn this around.

I hope they change their stance on a lot of these issues but I doubt they will. I'm going PS4 anyway but competition is good for us gamers. If things proceed along the MS mindset, the console gaming future and gaming in general is bleak. Whatever happened to giving people options? The only option they give me now is not to buy the thing. Fine than!

At some point, what Microsoft offers up is our future. However, their idea of the future is a surveillance device that has junk I have no use for. I hope other companies can allow people a choice. The my-way-or-the-highway mindset of Microsoft isn't what people want, whether they be serious video games or those casuals who aren't that dumb enough to buy a machine that their PC ably can mimic.

Just to play devil's advocate, they will say that the DRM is not any worse than what pc gamers put up with. You can also sell your used games, albeit limitedly. HALO. XBL will get 2 free games a month. It's not more powerful - just different specs. And the extra 100 is for cloud computing. Etc et al yada yada. Makes me sick. Yell

They'll find out when they lose billions to their competitors. They blew it. Big time.

Even if they backtrack, they have done serious harm to any "reputation" they had.
