Raining and Gaming

Living in South Texas, I have learned to appreciate rain when it comes around, as it's usually pretty rare. However, after a massive leak and collapsed ceiling a week and a half ago, I've grown less favored to it.

I used to enjoy the cloudy days and cool weather that would come with the rain, but we've had no sunshine and (at least) a constant drizzle for about 2 weeks now. It's getting annoying. I like not instantly sweating as soon as I get out of the house, but getting drenched in rain isn't too much better. I'm grateful it's not anything terrifying like what's occuring in Colorado, but for my corner of the U.S., it's gone too far.

Anyway, to gaming!

For the longest time I was a FPS player when it came to multiplayer. The format felt more comfortable to me and I would exclude third-person shooters and, to my shame, act somewhat prejudicially towards them. I would talk down when it came to them without ever getting a good sampling of the genre.

Then I started playing multiplayer for Spec Ops: The Line. It's not the best thing, but it was interesting enough and, for me, a good example of third-person shooters. And just a few months after I played that came The Last of Us and its multiplayer component. That again was interesting and gave me further experience with the way third-person shooters work.

Since then, I've picked up Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Gears of War 3 for very, very cheap after using some of my unused points at Gamestop. And damned if I'm not having fun. These games don't have very much attention from gamers anymore considering they're over a year old, but they're still active enough to be able to jump into games when I want.

Are there other third-person shooters I should give a try? Give me suggestions!

Damn sucks about your ceiling. Depends, what consoles do you own, and do you own a pc?

Yeah, my reaction to the weather has gone from: Rainy day 1: Wow, cool! This is great! Rainy Day 2: Oh wow, more rain. Rainy Day 11: *grumble grumble grumble*

I have both a PS3 and a 360 at the moment, but no pc that can handle even moderately intensive gaming.
