Well hello Pixlbit. Just wanted to post something about these editions. If you haven't heard, Bungie announced the two collector's editions for Destiny. Which are the Limited and Ghost Edition. I usually don't buy these crazy expensive editions for games. The last one I got was the Gears of War 3 collector's edition with the Marcus Phoenix statue. I also got the Lancer Replica. I don't know why I went so crazy in buying those things, but I did anyway.

Since then, I've just been getting the Hardened Editions for every CoD game. If you are all curious about price, the Limited Edition of Destiny is priced at $100 and the Ghost Edition is $150. I was looking at the Limited Edition but I also wanted the Ghost Edition. To be honest, I would go with the Limited Edition but since I haven't bought any crazy collector's editions lately, I reserved the Ghost Edition.

From all the games announced and previewed at E3, Destiny took my heart. I didn't think I was going to get hooked to it when it was first announced by Bungie. But when I got the Alpha code for the PS4, I tried it out and the gameplay, graphics and atmosphere were amazing. I knew this game was the game for me to start off the Fall season. The PS4 is getting some exclusives that won't be available on Xbox One until fall of 2015. This was a big reason for me to want to get it for the PS4. My thought of Bungie doing this for Sony is to show the gamers who own the PS4 what they missed out on with the Halo series. I could be wrong.

I ended up reserving the Ghost Edition for the XB1. I know a few of my friends will be buying it for the XB1 because none of them, except for one, have PS4's. Usually I get exclusives for the Playstation consoles and shooters/everything else on the XB1.So I figured why not get it for the console that I have friends on. But I really wanted to get it for the PS4.

Anyways, these are the contents that each edition has.

Limited Edition:

-Limited Edition Steelbook Case and Game Disc
-Guardian Folio, containing
-Postcards from the Golden Age
-Antique Star Chart
-Collector's Edition Digital Content
-A Unique Ghost Casing
-An Exclusive Player Emblem
-An Exclusive Player Ship Variant

Ghost Edition:

-Ghost Replica
-Letter of Introduction
-Golden Age Relics
-Guardian Folio
-Postcards from the Golden Age
-Antique Star Chart
-Collector's Edition Digital Content
-A Unique Ghost Casing
-An Exclusive Player Emblem
-An Exclusive Player Ship Variant

So that's all you get with each edition. For a better description of them, you can find them in GameStop's website or even Bungie's. That's where I got these details from. Let me know if you guys and gals are getting the game and if you're going to get one of these editions. Hope you all have a great week!

BEYOND!

i'm pretty hyped for this game too but i don't know if i'm gonna join the next gen this year or not.  seems exciting though.

I'm one of those gamers where when I see the new thing, I HAVE TO have it. The WiiU is different because I've never been that crazy into Nintendo ever since the Wii. I'm not sure why though. But there's no rush to get into next gen.

I didn't get a PS3 until three years ago and I'm barely making a dent into the hundreds of games for it. Since the price drop of the XB1, I wouldn't be surprised to see these consoles go down maybe next year or the year after. Probably best to wait for some crazy video game themed console like an Uncharted PS4 or Halo 5 XB1.

I'd actually get another console if any of those were to release to be honest. But that's just me.

Collectors editions have gotten way too out of hand these days.

I know what you mean. If they're $20 or even $40 more than the regular game, I'll buy it. There are some that I'm willing to burn a hole in my wallet for but that rarely happens. If they're collector's editions that say "exclusive dlc only with the so and so edition" then I'll pass because I know within 3-5 months after the game is released is when they'll start to put out the dlc.

The last collectors edition I bought was the Infamous 2 CE. That slingpack was awesome

Damn, this is a cool package, The Ghost Edition.

I usually see things like statues and that Gears Lancer at Gamestop long after they come out being sold for a lot less than when they came out. I almost sprung for the Halo Reach statue when it was $40. I probably missed out. That was a good price for that huge awesome statue.

I was actually lucky enough to get the Halo Reach collector's with the statue for $80 at Best Buy. I have a lot of collector's edition stuff from games but my best one that I have would probably be the Special Edition of Bioshock 2. I remember shopping at Target and my cousin and I saw two of them on clearance for $18. Definitely my cheapest and best collector's that I've found. I couldn't believe we found them on clearance.

I was close to getting the Limited Edition of Destiny, but for $50 more I could get some other goodies. May not be worth it to some people. Honestly its not 100% worth it to me, but the collector in me wants/needs the Ghost Edition. Besides, I think it would be cool to have that Ghost replica. I guess people who buy that edition will have the red Ghost in game and everyone else will have a white Ghost.

That's cool. I was considering the collectors edition for Bioshock Infinite but didn't do it. I'm considering it for Crackdown 3, if they have one, or an Xbox One bundle.

I got the Limited Edition of Bioshock Infinite. If Crackdown 3 has a collector's I'm definitely getting it. If they have two different collector's editions, I'll probably get the least expensive one.

I completely forgot that the last collector's edition I got was the GTAV Collector's Edition which was $150.

Darn, that's a big purchase for a game. I'm willing to go far for Crackdown, but it really depends on what they offer, if anything.

True. I got the GTAV collector's because I missed out on GTAIV's collector's. And two of my cousins really wanted to get that edition so I wanted to get it and rub it in their faces haha. Opened the box, took out the collectables, put them back in the box and is currently in my closet.
