Captain Rainbow Marathon

We got our hands on a Japanese copy of Captain Rainbow, and now we're going to try to comprehend it on October 4.

On October 4, PixlBit will try to figure out Captain Rainbow in front of a live internet audience via a live stream.

Back in the summer of 2008, Skip Ltd.'s Nintendo-referencing action game Captain Rainbow came out in Japan. It didn't light up the sales charts, but it developed something of a small cult following due to its inclusion of Nintendo characters such as Birdo, Little Mac, and the guy from NES Golf.

I was very intrigued by this game, so I decided to import it. Now, I'm going to try to get through it (with the help of any translation guides I can find), all for the enjoyment of the people at home.

We'll also be on Skype during the live stream, so call in and laugh at us, or don't be a jerk and talk nicely to us about Captain Rainbow, Nintendo, and Skip, and why North America was robbed of seeing this game.

Here's the schedule for what's going on:

Sunday October 4 (All times EST)

Call us on the Skype ID "laurenlew2"

5:30 p.m. - Begin marathon

6:30 p.m. - Call In: What's Your Favorite Obscure Nintendo Character?

8:00 p.m. - Giveaway: Whoever Answers Trivia Questions Wins A Prize

??:?? p.m./a.m. - Marathon end. We'll go until people stop watching, we all fall asleep, or it gets boring.

Let us know what other games you'd like to see get this treatment!

Thanks to everyone who checked us out. We hope you enjoyed seeing us muddle through a quirky and surprisingly fun and intuitive game.

Hope to see you all next time!

Noooooo! I completely forgot about this one. Sorry about that :( It just slipped my mind. I'll be a little more aware next time, hopefully.
