Push Start to Continue Episode 1: PSTC The Reboot

Reboot!!

A great tragedy has befallen PixlBit.  Through the instability and craziness that is technology, all previous episodes of Push Start to Continue have been lost.  This calamity not only affects the denizens of PixlBit, but is considered a great loss to humanity as a whole.  We are all a little worse off because of it.

But through this tragedy we must persevere, and Jesse and Mike are moving forward.  They may be back to ground zero, but sometimes starting over can be a good thing.  So take a listen to the new beginning of PStC – the Reboot Edition.

Hey we are actually bringing the old episodes back. They'll likely be back up in working order by the end of the weekend. So basically disregard everything we said (as usual).

So this is more of a Marvel reboot as opposed to a real reboot, ala DC.

We'd like to think that this is more akin to the Ultimate Universe version of the podcast.

Awesome! Race and gender changes across the board!

I approve of this.

LOL. You guys are idiots. Fortunately you're the kind of idiots I can relate to so keep up the good work. :)

Multiple people have used the "you're playing it wrong" argument with me when it comes to The Last of Us. That's probably my fault, because I didn't communicate my issues with the game well enough.

I'm talking about the forced shooting segments. Without spoiling, I can think of the sniper's nest, the dam, the horse chase, and the university off the top of my head. These are areas where it's all about shooting, and this is problematic because, not only do I think that the shooting is not good, but the fact that so many people have so much ammo completely throws out any sense of realism that the game was establishing.

Beyond this, the AI for the enemies changes in these sections, as opposed to the areas where you can choose stealth. They do that annoying side step of gunshots (again ruining that realism), can always make a beeline towards Joel (this happened most egregiously in the university, and soak up bullet damage like a sponge. I understand that this has been a problem with the Uncharted games, so for it to show up here is extra annoying. To be clear, in the areas where you could choose to be stealthy I did, and it's to the game's credit that I could still power my way through if I made a mistake. Although I didn't like the way it was stealth or no stealth. The second you alert a guard, Ellie starts opening fire and you're pretty much committed at that point.

Oh, and Mike: Tharja and the War Monk (I forget his name) were one of my power couples in Fire Emblem. They made an unstoppable team, and their daughter was one of my most powerful weapons later on.
