Didn't Nintendo do away with friend codes for their online component? I remember a little while ago that there was this big update on the 3DS that changed it. They made me set up a Network ID to access the Nintendo eShop. And now I can't find the friend code anywhere in my settings. Am I correct or wrong?

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because I was updating my Pixlbit profile and see friend code still listed. If they are done away with, shouldn't the site need to be updated with that information? So yeah, my Nintendo Network ID is Coolsetzer now. Feel free to add me. =)

I don't know but I'll try to add you. I'm Athantos. I don't think I have you on the list yet.

You still need your 3DS system friend code to add people there to your friend list. Just because you add them in Miiverse does not add them on the 3DS as I understand it. I figured this out when I tried to add some people via 3DS Miiverse because you cannot add people from the 3DS Miiverse.

They still got some work to do to make it truly unified and we may not see that until the next generation handheld and console.

^Hopefully, the big N will decide that the scary interwebz isn't just a fad. It's here to stay. Do you know where I can find the friend code on the 3DS? I've gone through all the options and can't find it. With that big update, the Setup app got switched around. The only thing I see is a tab for the Network ID.

Go to Friends List on the main screen (square, orange smiley face). The first card that shows to the right is yourself, so pick it and on the top screen you will see your Friend Code (bottom right corner-ish).

Found it. Mucho gracias. Seems like a strange place to hide it, if you ask me.
