Alright, so Nintendo is selling GBA games starting this month and I like some of them. Specifically...

Golden Sun
Mario & Luigi RPG
Metroid Fusion

and there are a few others.

I already own Super Metroid on WiiU and it is fabulous on the gampad. I will be adding some GBA games as well.

Post any thoughts, impressions here. Cool

Every week.  Some this Thursday.  Some next Thursday.  Some the following Thursday.

of course I wish that Nintendo would release them on the 3DS....  I am not sure why they think the Wii U makes more sense than the 3DS.

^The Wii U is getting everything right now. They really need to boost sales, since it's been flagging ever since it came out.

Metroid Fusion (2002)

Okay, so this game is still totally rad after all these years. I would dare to call it a classic and a worthy sequel to Super Metroid. Glad to see it beautifully emulated on the WiiU Gamepad and also on TV, though TV version is super duper pixely. But I love me my pixels if you don't know me by now. Pixels are a good thing. Just pop on a pair of headphones to the gamepad and Im in Metroid Fusion heaven!Cool

Good to hear that the emulation is good.  I have downloaded both Metroid Fusion and Mario&Luigi but haven't tried either out yet.  I never had a GBA, so I'm hoping that they keep this up and give us many more titles.  Of course, like most others I'd rather have them on my 3DS, but it doesn't look like they'll be doing that anytime soon.

This article over at usgamer gives a probable reason that they aren't putting them on 3DS.  Something about the only way to make the GBA games play on the 3DS is to basically turn the 3DS into a GBA, therefore overriding things like sleep mode, which is something Nintendo probably isn't willing to do.  Not sure how true it is, but Parish usually knows his stuff:

I read the article. Very interesting. Im going to go on the defense for WiiU and say that I prefer these games on the bigger gamepad screen than on 3DS. Unless you have an XL of course, which I dont. Im interested in seeing Golden Sun 2, since I never played it before.

So Minish Cap is going to be arriving soon. I'm liking the games being released because many of them are titles I missed buying back in the day.

Plan on getting the Advance Wars games, Metroid Fusion, the Wario Lands and now Minish Cap.

Didn't they announce that they were planning to release DS games in the future? The only question is how soon? I'm hoping we learn more about those at E3. The Gamepad would make it a great TV emulator for DS/3DS titles.

Nintendo did announce DS emulation for Wii U early in the year. Here is an article from Polygon in Jan.
