Ermac, Goro, Sonya Confirmed for Mortal Kombat 9?

Posts on the Midway forums with some convincing evidence bring about the question.

Days ago, user AdrianJames on the Midway Forums posted a few different images supposedly taken from within Neatherealm Studios, the headquarters of the developer of the upcoming title, Mortal Kombat 9.

The images (pictured below) show a few different characters in the game, including some who have already been revealed. The big surprise here are two pieces of concept art picturing Ermac and Goro, as well as a character select screen that includes Sonya.

If you analyze the images, the same person is pictured in all of them, off to the side. Because the character art of Scorpion and Sub-Zero match what we have already seen of Mortal Kombat 9, the other shots of Goro and Ermac are more believable.

Sonya is also believable as the character select screen matches what has been seen before, and Sonya's art style coincides with the other characters on the screen.

The images are available below for your consideration.

I didn't even know there was another Mortal Kombat in development. Still, I think it's odd Ermac would be a featured piece of art, since, IIRC, he was originally a glitch in the game. I suppose he's become a major character, then?

Yeah, the original MK arcade, Ermac was a red render of Reptile, but since then he has become a full-fledged, real Mortal Kombat character, with a story and a set of unique moves.

He looks pretty badass here, I thought. Hopefully this is a real render.

How could you not know there was a new MK in development, Jason? It was announced at E3.

And present at the show as well, though it took about 2 hours to get into the room where it was on display, and it wasn't playable (jerks).

Oh, right. I remember Nick and Jason H. talking about it. I'm getting too forgetful, it seems.
