The Last of Us Coming Exclusively to PS3

New enigmatic game to be officially outed at Spike's VGAs.

The Spike TV Video Game Awards is starting to become a hotbed for major reveals.  With information on Alan Wake 2, BioWare’s next project and more to be revealed, there is many a video game enthusiast's DV-R scheduled to record the event.  But even a week before the show airs we’re starting to get some teasers of what’s going to show, including a PlayStation 3 exclusive called The Last of Us.

While it looks like a post-apocalyptic or crisis centered game we know next to nothing about this game aside from the little that can be gleaned from the teaser trailer shown above and a short snippet of an ant dying that is displayed on the official site.

We’ll post more information on this game as it becomes available, but don’t let that stop you from speculating in the comments section below.

The Spike TV Video Game Awards airs this upcoming Saturday, December 10th at 8pm EST.

... and will be covered in a more mature manner by PixlBit the following day.

Unless you find some way to make me sit through some top twenty a-hole's new hit single before I can read your articles that is.

That ant that died... just seems like one of those ants that gets infected with a parasite that forces it to reach high ground, so that the parasite can transmit and reproduce itself on whatever other being that eats the ant that is in plain view... another zombie game? *does some searching* Oh fuck, it just might be. *looks closely at the video in the end* There's something slowly growing out of the ants head... Hahahahahahahah, another zombie game. I was wrong about it being a parasite, but nonetheless it's what I was thinking.

Kid Gloves: When Hand Holding Goes Too Far

As I was moving into the end game of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, I was tasked with finding three power couplings to unlock a door. It was a simple enough job, but in a game that had been almost entirely a linear affair, I was glad to have the rails taken off if even for a small section. It turned out that this wasn’t the case; any time I got remotely close to one of the power couplings Doktor would chime in on my codec to inform me that I was near my objective. Frowning, I destroyed the coupling and repeated the task with Doktor telling me exactly where to go and what to do. It made me realize just how much game design has changed in recent years, and what needs to be done to combat the need for constant hand holding that game designers have developed.
