Ubisoft Announces Assassin's Creed II: Discovery for DS and DSi

Journey through an untold story in the Assassin's Creed universe

Earlier today Ubisoft announced the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed II: Discovery for DS and DSi. This newest addition to the Assassin's Creed series will take players through an untold chapter in the Assassin's Creed console storyline, in which Ezio travels to Spain in order to rescue his fellow assassins. Through his journey Ezio discovers the other assassins are being held under the false pretense of the Inquisition, and uncovers a secret templar plot to sail west in hopes of discovering the new world.

The Assassin's Creed series is well noted for its fast paced intricate platforming, and Discovery is no exception to that rule. Assassin's Creed II: Discovery will focus on moving at blazing speeds while strategically avoiding obstacles, as well as performing acrobatically impressive feats. Tony Key, Senior Vice President of sales and marketing at Ubisoft stated, Nintendo fans will be impressed with all the unique features in the game designed specifically for Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS. Players who own a DSi will be able to snap photographs of themselves and insert those pictures into the game as wanted posters.

Assassin's Creed II: Discovery is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and will release for Nintendo DS and DSi on November 17, 2009 for an MSRP $29.99.

Don't care, especially after the abomination that was Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicle or whatever the hell it was called.

I'm definitely more excited for the PSP game. I never played the first handheld Assassin's Creed, but the iPhone game actually seemed decent. If only it wasn't horribly slow with awkward controls...
