They'll program the game to play itself but not include classic controller support? Now I know how Cranky feels.
Donkey Kong Country Returns to Feature Super Guide
Like New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2, the latest from Nintendo will contain the feature.
IGN revealed yesterday in a preview for Donkey Kong Country Returns that the title will feature a version of the Super Guide. This same ability was featured in two of Nintendo's past titles, originally New Super Mario Bros. Wii and most recently, Super Mario Galaxy 2.
For those unfamiliar, the Super Guide allows players, at a given moment, to push a button and allow the computer take over and complete a particularly tough section of a level.
The beauty of the Super Guide is that players, after activating the function, can hop in at any time and take power back from the computer. This active assistance makes it so that any user can complete tough levels in the game, allowing them to proceed.
Donkey Kong Country Returns' implementation allows players to activate the Super Guide at a checkpoint in a level after dying 8 times. Upon activation, a white version of Donkey Kong will take over to pass the problematic spot.
The caveat is that all level collectibles won't be added to your totals. This includes bananas, banana coins, puzzle pieces and K-O-N-G letters.
Players will be able to try their luck at the Wii title come November 21 when it releases in America.
