Given the new direction provided by Square Enix, Kane & Lynch has progressed in unimaginable ways.

It’s not every day that you stumble across a game with such amazingly progressive ideas that the majority of the game industry just doesn’t “get it.” It’s impressive, to say the least, with what Square Enix has managed to do with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. Avante garde in design, the game’s cover mechanics turn the standard shooter formula on its head. Couple this with the interesting graphical design and it’s clear that players are in for a real treat.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Review

Kane & Lynch 2 was a game that should have never existed.

I never played Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, the first game in the Kane & Lynch series. Like most I was very familiar with it as being one of the worst games to be made available in this console generation. The game made more headlines for allegedly causing the firing of a GameSpot reviewer over a bad score, than for anything particular about the game itself. I assumed, incorrectly, with the tarnish of shady company ethics along with horrible story and production quality that the franchise was dead and gone, ready to be buried in the desert with E.T. for the Atari.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Hands On Preview

The one multiplayer mode I was able to try looked good, but the rest of the game is still a question mark.

After the fiasco that was Gerstmann-gate, I can't say that I bothered trying the original Kane & Lynch. This year at E3, I did get some hands-on time with the sequel's Cops and Robbers multiplayer mode.

IO Interactive reveal the sequel to Kane & Lynch 2.

IO Interactive, a subsidiary of Square Enix Europe has confirmed that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
