E-Sports is on the rise it seems. I decided to watch the live stream of the LoL Season 3 Championship Final. It was held at the Staple Center. That is crazy and when the showed the crowd, It looked like the place was packed. It was really cool that they did interviews with semi famous people that enjoy League of Legends. There was an NFL kicker, I am pretty sure he was the kicker, for the Vikings. He talked about how he enjoyed playing the game and even watching the tourney.

The final match itself was of 5 rounds. SKT dominated the first three rounds to secure the win. The second game was hectic because the other team looked like they had a chance to win that game. In the end it was really intense even though it was completely one sided. I never thought I would say this but I love watching LoL and the season itself. E-sports are on the rise. The main gripe I have had heard is that people don't see the point in watching the game when they could be playing. WHAT!!! It is the same argument that could be made about watching NFL or any other professional sport. I do not play nor have I ever tried to, but LoL seems really intense and the way these players coordinate and strategize is just incredible and makes for some exciting entertainment.

The fact that E-Sports are becoming the new thing is that it isn't just a bunch of guys in some hotel conference room lanning their systems together and calling it a tournament. They have professionalized this sport. They have the simple things like captains, coaches and sponsors. The incredible thing is that they have arenas, brackets, regionals, worlds, a pre-season, a regular season, post-season and championships. It is like any other sport.

And I just want to say that they are making a boat load of money for playing a video game. They made a million dollars off winning worlds. It is so cool to watch as this sport becomes more mainstream and less taboo. Gaming isn't for geeks and nerds anymore. You don't have to play LoL is enjoy watching the games necessarily. In the coming years, I think it can only get bigger.
