I'm an asshole but some people can actually deal with it.

So it has been quite awhile since I last wrote a review for this place. As much as I wanted to write one I have just one problem, not GamerGate related mind you; it seems like I never have the energy to write a review like I did. I guess it’s kind of like doing book reports for me. Let me explain: let’s say you had to do a book report about every two weeks (because English instructors are a type of Grammar Nazi hell bent on global literacy) and you have a bunch of favorite books. You love the books you read and you want to talk about them as much as you can, but then after while when you have written about five or six reports in a particular format that doesn’t agree with your metal flow it starts to wear on you. And that’s the problem for me: I have a hard time trying to define the game I’m playing in a format like I have been using. Going over graphics, controls, story start to look similar because I’m using words to define what I’m looking at, or at least experiencing, at a level that everyone can understand and for someone who can process it but can’t explain it back that well in a common language, such as myself, that can be a problem. I like to rant but I have a hard time defining my ranting.

So even though that’s the problem it’s not going to stop me from talking about games or whatever I feel like. You won’t see a Review tag from me for awhile but I will do my damndest to write.

Now that I got that out of the way, I guess I can explain how my day went: horribly. At least in the morning. I have a co-worker I work with at least four times a week at the McDonald’s I’m employed at. Yes I’m still too tired to find a job to put my associates to work (And people thought I was joking that I would be taking a vacation after graduating. Of course that was back in high school but still.) but for now I’m just working there. In any case as soon as I clocked in and got ready for my shift I found out that I was going to work on the side next to the grill making sandwiches, which means I would have to help my co-worker. Here’s the problem: he’s a whiny bitch (I’m sure there’s a “lesser vorish” word for it but I don’t know it). You help him with whatever needs to be done he continues to bitch that he doesn’t get help. You work hard at your station and call for a Biscuit & Gravy as you finish up and tidy your station he bitches that you stand there. New guy tries his damnedest at something he bitches about him/her. I was SO not in the mood for that today so I was mega grump the whole morning. Long story short (too late) I said something and he just bitched me out and said another co-worker already talked to the head manager about me. Now I may have had his gripe coming but I was not going to go home until I had a say with the manager, the problem would hang over my head over my Saturday off.

So during my break I talked to the head manager; it turned out that no one talked to her about my mood. “Well, this is awkward,” I said as I couldn’t believe it. Going for a short ending (WELL TOO LATE FOR THAT) I told her he’s a whiny bitch and I was not going to stand for his crap for today (yes, I legitimately said “whiny bitch” to her to describe him), she interrupted to tell me I did a good job as a trainer (there was a new guy), and told me that she can’t do anything about him being a whiny bitch and to tough it out throughout to November until he retires. So that’s four things to look forward to in November: Thanksgiving, Persona Q, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, and Bitchy Man’s retirement. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy but he’s a bitch to work with.

And now to gaming. I have a game I want to talk about but I’ll save that for October. But I do have a bit of a revelation.

Metroid, as we know, is a series based on the Alien franchise with my favorite of the bunch, Metroid Fusion, based Aliens Resurrection. There’s just one thing that doesn’t fit with the theme: The X Parasite. The X is not a Metroid with human genes in it, nor is it a Predator (which would make a different film to be based on if it somehow did). So what is the X Parasite? Well, Metroid Fusion has two creatures based on two different movie monsters. And at the moment I’m writing this I just found out someone else already figured out that the X Parasites are based on John Carpenter’s The Thing and posted it on a wiki. Damn it, that ruined the mind blowing.

So that’s it for the day. Till next time.

My first job was at Boston Market. I am so glad I don't work in fast food any more, because I know it can be hell. I do try to respect the staff though.

Guess I should have figured about the X parasites being The Thing. The movie didn't really scare me, but it did keep me interested in what was going to happen next.

And when we say "whiny bitch's retirement" ... I thought he was a new hire? Or is she saying she'll fire him in Novemeber and using code language? I may have read something wrong.

Sorry for the confusion. He's been at the store for almost eight years now but he's old enough to qualify for retirement. What she told me was just wait it out until his application is approved.

Sucks to hear that. Hopefully you'll get a well deserved rest on November.

people "retire" from McDonalds?

Sucks that you have to work with such a shitty person.  It'll get better for you, I'm sure.

Not really a shitty person. Just an arrogant old man. I suppose people retire from McDonald's but he had other jobs and he's close to that age so...

Being drained of motivation, I feel ya.

The only problem I have with work is all the merchandising I have to do, because we are understaffed and the store is going through a product rage change we have to do extra work to keep standards up. I volunteered because I had to change an entire section on my own So I felt obligated. it's keeping me till late at night. If I had a life this would be a problem. O Well.

I  thought that X parasite "The Thing" comparison was obvious? I guess i'm just ahead of the curve Wink

I didn't even know what The Thing was about until I actually watched it so it wasn't that obvious then.

I've worked at a couple fast foo places, including McDonald's when I was a kid.  IN my experience, life is pretty cheap at those places.

Yeah, I suppose but then I'm seen as a someone of some importance so I have at least something going until something else turns up.
