I'm sure I would like this site better if it didn't contain your horrible reviews and coverage.

"I'm sorry Stanton, but you just weren't aligning with the core values of PixlBit. For reference:

1). Cover the Right Things

2). Review with Care

3). Write with Passion

4). Improve Constantly

5). Love to Learn "

Too bad none of the PixlBit staff members follow these values.

I wonder what's the bigger joke, this joke review being better than 99% of PixlBit's actual reviews or PixlBit's general coverage.

While I wouldn't always agree with Nick on some stuff, the only way he's biased of the 360 is that he prefers the 360 controller over the PS3 controller ;), but in terms of games I think that he's a pretty fair guy. If he loves a game, he will give it a really good score, if he thinks it sucks then it's going to be panned.

Regarding 360 blame the industry and Sony on that one. The 360 became the defacto standard for multiplatform games, and it's very common that 360 versions of multiplatform games or 360 games in general get reviewed more often since there are more of them. Also, it's typical that a majority of multiplatform games are simply better on 360 since the 360 version was most likely the lead platform. The reason to blame Sony - they fumbled so many times ever since launch, and it took them a few years to even recover. If Sony didn't do so poorly the generation, the PS3 would of probably been the defacto standard for multiplatform games and there probably would of been more PS3 games than 360 games.

A Question of Morality: Console Hacking

Posted on 02/21/2011 at 10:01 PM | Filed Under Feature

Regarding this whole situation, I think that in some areas it's really ridiculous how Sony is raising all of this commotion, especially how Sony was going as far as subpoenaing people involved with this hack and all the nonsense with Youtube. Plus with all of this rumored talk about with Sony data mining with what peripherals are connected to the PS3, what TV the PS3 it's connected to, and more. If all of this is true, it's quite scary thought!

We all know how fast the Wii got hacked, and while Nintendo tried to thwart it with numerous firmware updates they didn't go out like a raving lunatic like Sony has with all the lawsuits and media attention.I don't mind at all when a company tries to protect their business with ways to prevent piracy, and of course a company will do it for the best interest and this is obviously done by firmware updates since it's the most convient but irritating for us since we have to update in order to access online features for consoles. It shocked me that only Sony was the only company to use a firmware update to actually disable a feature on the "fat" PS3, and how recently in order to simply connect to PSN, I had to agree to an errata of the end user agreement for PSN which informs users that Sony can collect data from you.

While I agree with the motto of, "you paid for the device, do whatever you want with it"; it won't be the case anymore considering how crazy the EULA is for consoles if you actually bother reading it (which no one does!), and also because of how consoles and portables are becoming much more network centric each device is becoming in each generation.

If Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo don't like what you're doing on your console, they can zap that piece of homebrew software or any other unauthorized software that they don't like as they please.

Crystal Defenders Review

Square Enix should just stop porting this game ;). First time around it was simply ok and nothing special, but now porting it to Android is just a little excessive.

Golden Sun Dark Dawn Release Date Announced

I think you read into that statement a little too far, even though that point can be perfectly valid. I was thinking more about logistics reasons because November 29 is cyber Monday where online retailers have their sales.

Microsoft Reveals New Controller

Nick, since it's the wireless controller you can technically use Microsoft's wireless receiver dongle so that you can use it on the PC. Sadly you can't use the play and charge kit's USB connection to hook it up to the PC since it will only charge the battery pack.

While I don't really like the price, I may have to pick one up since playing certain XBLA games I have is painful with the analog stick and d-pad on the stock 360 controller.

Metroid: Other M Review

Posted on 08/31/2010 at 09:33 PM | Filed Under Review

I just got this in the mail today and I am enjoying it a lot. However, I do have one big issue with the game that I would of never imagined that would exist in a Nintendo or Team Ninja game, since it brings the game to a grinding halt and kills the tempo of the game. At times, you are forced in first person mode to scan a specific thing in order to advance. I also found the scan areas smaller than the Metroid Prime games which can make it even more frustrating. To add insult to injury, when you try to get out of this mode by turning your Wii Remote horizontally, it turns your screen green.

Other than this one issue, I think the game is fantastic, and it amazes me how much the developers did with the controls especially since a Wii Remote alone is not really ideal in a 3D game.

I really think this game feels like a nice fusion of a Metroid game and a Ninja Gaiden game and it works great. I can see how some Metroid fans may be turned off with the numerous cutscenes, but I really enjoyed the character and backstory development in the cutscenes.
