Happy New Year! And uh,catching up.

Posted on 01/02/2014 at 10:34 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Happy New Year's Ben! Best wishes in all your endeavors in this coming year! Depending on how things go the first half of this year, if you'd be up for it I'd maybe like to collaborate with you on making a game, I think we could make something AMAZING together! And I'm finally getting to downloading your game, and will try to play it soon. I have about 8 games backlogged on my PS3, a couple on my PS4, about 12 PSP/Vita games on my Vita, and about 3 or 4 on 3DS. Lots of games to play, and so little time! But I'll try to get to it ASAP!

Ben's purchases! Gamez into the veinz!

Now that you have a PSP Ben, I'd highly recommend downloading the two Corpse Party games if you have the memory space for them! The first one is rather creepy in a way we don't see in media much anymore, and the sequel has the same type of story, but I haven't gotten into it much because of anxiety issues. Not the best idea to play a game with high schoolers being trapped in a school in another dimension that's full of tortured souls trying to kill them when in this state!

Absolutism: The true enemy!

There's no bumping heads, so it's all good Ben! I think where we really differ, is I don't see it as being something hard to achieve, getting into heaven that is. It's rather simple, especially if someone is a good person. It's just a choice of "This guy died on a cross so that none of my sins would be held against me" or "That guy died on a cross for trying to say he was a god." That's why I feel it's so simple, and can wonder how people don't believe that. Sure, there's other stories in the Bible that are much harder to believe and understand, even for many Christians, but when there's historical proof that Jesus existed, it's then just a matter of believing if he was crazy for letting himself be crucified, or if he really had a purpose in it. It's the main reason I believe, outside of my personal experiences that have shaped my beliefs, because one man letting himself have a horrible death for no crime, all so that he could save millions of lives of people he didn't even know and didn't even exist yet... You wouldn't really see anyone do that. We can say we would, but when it comes down to it, most of us would only save another if we knew them or if our death in their place would be quick and easy. That's my reasoning. Laughing

Absolutism: The true enemy!

I pretty much just have this to say, being Christian and all Ben. Christianity isn't being nice to others, or treating others as you want to be treated, etc. It's accepting that Jesus died on the cross to keep all of our sins from being held against us (hence why say, someone who looks at porn can still go to heaven), and trying to live as close a life to Jesus as possible. Those are the two main pillars of Christianity.

What's really funny, is Jesus hung out with regular people, even the lowest of the low. He hung around with tax collectors, prostitutes, sickly people, etc. But because of what the Catholic Church, and by extension the Protestant movement and the Puritan movement associated with them had made up, it became terrible to be around these people, or to say "Hey, this person may be a prostitute, but they would otherwise starve to death, and their kids need food too." Sure, that's not really an excuse to make it okay to be a prostitute, but if someone sees that as their only option, what Christianity SHOULD teach is to spend time with that person, help them get out of that situation, talk to them about it, things like that.

It's why I've more and more slowly moved away from organized Christianity. I still go to church college events and help with the kids, but I tend to do more of the learning on my own, instead of having someone who earned a degree from a school with their own ways of thinking telling me how to be a Christian. There's the one way to get into Heaven, and the one way to try to act as a Christian. It's not a hard religion, but people who abuse power make it harder so that they can gain profit. Just look at divorcing as a Catholic. You don't only have to pay the government and court fees, you have to pay fees to the Catholic Church and appeal to have your marriage annulled by some high-up "God-appointed" man, which is bullcrap, because no man is closer to God than any other, except Jesus.

Sorry for the little rant there, I meant to just say a small something on it, but it just kept a-flowin'! And Happy Thanksgiving Ben!

Why Playstation 4 Will Lose 8th Gen

With how narcissistic Microsoft is, you know that within the first year they're going to be putting "Only on" on their boxes. Heck, they already have butchered the Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts commercials with their attempted trickery of "We're gonna make it sound like you can only get the DLC here, mwahaha!"

Retro ranting: Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles

I have Dracula X Chronicles. Downside is, I'm kinda at a loss on SotN. I got to a point where I ended up messing up the order on multiple things, and then it's been so long since I last played, that I'll just need to start over... And I'll probably just end up saving some extra cash to get it digitally on my Vita now. Darn dual astigmatism, making it harder to go back to the small screens! Curse this old, old age of 19!

Developer diary (Spoiler-ish!)

Posted on 11/21/2013 at 03:17 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Hey Ben, I will just throw this out there... If you don't feel content with the development of characters, especially villians, say it was "on purpose" and expand on them in a sequel I see you're considering! It's a decent "out" in this case, and then you can make them more "mysterious" in the first game. I know that's what I'm intending to do with my games someday. Have the first one introduce all the characters, and delve into the protagonists stories. In the second game, delve into what made the villians who they are, and flesh them out. And then, if you would make a third game, you'd have the major characterization out of the way and can just focus on an epic story, possibly conclusion!

I'll give a quick example. In what I want to make, there's these mysterious powerful enemies that are dressed in fancy tux-like outfits with trench coats and hats and all. That, and their evil personalities and powers are most of what is explained in the first installment. In the second installment, which takes place around 10 years later, it still continues the main character's story, but delves into how the evil people were made in that time and then sent back the 10 years to the first story, and how they think and how they act are almost two seperate personalities altogether.

Take advantage of anything you feel was a mistake or a slip-up, and turn it into a strength for future games. It of course wouldn't be in the same way, but you could do flashbacks, or you could do something like Kingdom Hearts does where the player can collect reports or diary pages that give backstory on certain characters and events. Any mistakes should be embraced, and any criticism should be used to make the next game even more powerful and possibly offensive if you just want to give the bird to soap-boxers!

Just gonna say, I'm proud to have the Neptunia games, Lollipop Chainsaw, the Agarest games, the Luminous Arc games, Project Diva f, and in less than 8 hours will be downloading Senran Kagura Burst (a fighter where clothes come off with damage taken) onto my 3DS. They're down-right fun, and have adorable and sexy characters. I use to have a little shame of it, but now I don't! Having friends that are true friends and a girlfriend who accepts my "tastes" make me shameless! Long live fawning for the opposite sex!

I was tempted to buy Meruru Plus, but seeing as I still have barely played Totori Plus, and money and memory space are both tight, I figured I could wait, especially since the bonuses wouldn't cost that much extra if I ever get around to getting the regular version of it. Glad to know you're doing good still!
