Lets discuss that whole Microsoft dis-Kinect hoopla thing...

Posted on 05/20/2014 at 05:38 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I might buy an Xbox One but probably not for another year or so. Other than Peggle 2 and Forza 5 there isn't anything on the console right now I'd want to play and I'm not sure Sunset Overdrive, Project: Spark and Quantum Break are games that would make me run out to buy the console.

I'm plenty happy with my launch PS4 and I probably will buy the Wii U before I buy the Xbox One. Kudos to Microsoft for finally realizing nobody wanted the intrusive camera. I still question the horsepower under its hood. I expect that only XO exclusives will be played on it if I ever buy one and it will be some time for a good number of them to be on the market.

Data East Arcade Classics - BurgerTime

BurgerTime is a very challenging game. Learning the patterns of the enemies or using techniques to get all the baddies bunched up together is your key to high scores.

I played the ColecoVision version of BurgerTime quite often. It's an excellent arcade translation. Originally, Mattel was planning to release games on the ColecoVision in a similar manner as they did on the Atari 2600. However, Mattel left the console market during the crash and gave Coleco the finished versions of BurgerTime and Bump 'n Jump to release for them.

Also, try the NES version. It's a very difficult version of the game. Right away, 6 enemies are after you and the game is very fast. You will be lucky to pass the third screen in this version.

2 sentences about the Puppeteer

I hope the guy who bought my PS3 is playing the game. Only had time to complete the game up to World 3 but I enjoyed my time with Puppeteer. It's a great mix of LittleBigPlanet and Legend Of The Mystical Ninja. If they ever release it on Gaikai, I'd buy it again on the PS4. Can never get enough of Pikarina.

The Game Buying Monkey is Off My Back

If Sony gets a tie in the U.S. and U.K. markets this time around, that's a win for them. My only gripe is that I'm going to have to hear the voices of little kids online now that the PS4 has a headset in the box. I rarely play online as is. I don't feel like telling strangers my life story for 30-60 minutes.

Preemptive Strike! Big Games This Season

I just need a fighting gamestick for the PC version of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade but I haven't found one that's suitable for a casual fighting game fan like myself.

The Game Buying Monkey is Off My Back

The game buying monkey has been off my back since September 17 and will remain so for another 3 weeks. It actually bothers me that I can't go into any video game/electronics store but I have accepted it. Even after the PS4 launch, it has to continue a bit unless PSN has some great games beyond the PS+ stuff.

Brrrrrrr....

Update On Saints Row Banning

Obviously, your politicos are getting in the way of the adults and their rights. Maybe after the election they will stop with the shenanigans.

Kids always find workarounds. Politicos always underestimate the kids. What they want, they get. Australia has the right idea, just terrible execution. Kids should not be allowed to play M-rated games but adults shouldn't be barred from it, either.
