What's sad is that fewer people will read and comment on this review because it is a game they are unfamiliar with, and hence, don't care much about. I would love for more people to unearth this one and give it a try.
I try to alternate obscure games and favorites for my reviews. People tend to comment more on the famous games, but I have a duty to, like you said, inform others about rare gems such as this one.

Either way, please play this game. Especially if you or somebody you know like Zelda II.

I've watched all of these, and the Chronsega and Chronturbos as well. Dr. Sparkle gets a bit tiresome, and like some have mentioned, his monotone delivery acts as a nice soporific. I usually find myself falling asleep about half way through.
He's informative and all; it's nice to see those few Nintendo games that I've never tried. At least he doesn't try to inject "personality" into his videos, the bane of many Youtube posters.

If you have any tolerance for playing 8 bit games any more, Olympus should be at the to of the list. I LOVE discovering an old game that still feels like an old game and yet doesn't offend my jaded gaming sensibilities. I think this one probably fits the bill. Sure it's got a bit of grinding, but otherwise it's aces!
It deserves WAY more credit than it gets. It just wasn't one of those "flagship" NES games..... If you weren't Nintendo, Konami or Capcom, Nintendo Power gave you no love. When I think back on Broderbund, I think of shitty Carmen Sandiego-type games.
Anyway, BoO is a game that is worth digging up for a weekend. You hear about rare games like Little Samson, or decent games with RPG-lite mechanics like Clash at Demonhead, and Olympus stays off the radar. Sophistry!
Ha, Clash of the Titans, my father's favorite bad movie. Used to make us watch that when we were littluns.
I love Battle of Olympus, and nobody talks about it. Damn shame! :(
