New ideas can cause some new problems.
One thing we don’t need on this planet is another multiplayer shooter franchise. That is, unless someone actually comes up with a new enough take on the concept to warrant our attention. Hybrid certainly has a couple of fresh ideas that had potential to shake things up, without turning the whole shooter concept upside down. The problem is, the new cover-to-cover mechanic also forces limits on the game in other ways that prevent it from being anything amazing.
The creator of Scribblenauts has a new XBLA title on the way.
5th Cell announced in a press release today some new details for the upcoming game Hybrid, their Xbox Live Arcade title set to be released this summer. The title is a cover-based third person shooter.
The title is a third person shooter that will be released in summer 2011 exclusively for Xbox Live Arcade. More information can be found at WhatIsHybrid.com.
Next week on Spike TV Slaczka will unveil the title.
It was revealed today, October 21st, that Jeremy Slaczka will be appearing on Spike TV next week, on October 28th, at 10 p.m. PDT to unveil 5th Cell's latest game.
All right, folks. This is it. The last podcast where I spend any real lengthy focus on Scribblenauts, Super Scribblenauts, and any 5th Cell work for the foreseeable future.

During my playthrough of Super Scribblenauts, I summoned 1582 objects and customized them with 430 adjectives or adverbs, or whatever one might call general descriptive words. Which words do I remember? Micro, tiny, massive, bridge, jetpack, wings, cat, mouse. To save space, allow me to say there's approximately fifty more, a hundred at the most. Why is it that in Super Scribblenauts, I can express a diverse vocabulary, but at most, only about 1/20th stand out?
