Xbox One Fails to Impress PixlBit Users

Take a look at some select user blogs about the Xbox One reveal. Be wary, there are a lot of negative comments ahead.

Microsoft's Xbox One is now revealed and our users here at PixlBit have a lot to say about it. People in our community have been showing tons of negative feedback with only a handful of positive comments towards Microsoft's gaming future. Most people are concerned that Microsoft's focus is on TV programming instead of video games. Here's a quick guide to some of our Xbox One user blogs.

Yargz let out all of his rage, wanting games instead of an interactive TV guide. He’s also not too fond of the name Xbox One nor its lack of backwards compatibility.

Nicoleb1989 is less than impressed with Microsoft’s focus on sports and TV programming.  She also criticizes Microsoft for being vague with the console’s online components and necessities.

Townz90 admits that the Xbox One could be a good multimedia box, but fears Microsoft could be forgetting about gamers. He’s currently swaying towards the PS4 instead of the Xbox One.

gigantor21 goes into detail highlighting the pros and cons from Microsoft’s reveal. While not liking the short one hour conference nor the lack of games being featured, he is liking the upgraded Kinect navigation functionality.

leeradical42 is an Xbox 360 fan who now feels alienated after the Xbox One reveal. He is swaying towards the PS4 due to the variety of games shown at their reveal back in Febraury. Microsoft had a large focus on Sports and Call of Duty, two things leeradical42 has zero interest in.

Epic Greenman doesn’t say much, but he likes the flat shape of the Xbox One’s shell.

GamerGirlBritt doesn’t have anything nice to say about the Xbox One. Hating the name “Xbox One”, disliking the physical look of the Xbox One console, and less than impressed with Microsoft’s lack of hardware specs at the reveal. Oh yeah, she’s enraged that the Xbox One allegedly needs to be online once every 24 hours to function. Read this one with caution and beware of a LOT of swearing.

Keegs79 is also unimpressed with the Xbox One’s need to be online once a day. He is positive towards the announcement of eight new IPs, but disappointed since Microsoft didn’t show off any of their new titles beyond a brief teaser for Quantum Break. Right now Keegs79 is convinced that Sony will have more high quality titles than Microsoft in the next generation of gaming.

E3 is right around the corner, so we'll definitely get more insight into the Xbox One in the weeks to come. Hopefully Microsoft can reaffirm a commitment to gamers at E3, otherwise they may be in danger of scaring off many of the gamers that helped Microsoft's Xbox brand succeed in the first place. Check out our user blogs for more impressions.

Nice collective here! I'm glad you posted it, I actually missed a couple that some people wrote!

I planned on posting a secondary blog as well, but I'm waiting for the dust of angst to clear from my head first.

You missed a perfectly good opportunity to let everyone know BrokenH loves butts.

But I approve of making Microsoft's shit list easier to develop. Does this list improve over time with cloud computing?

The list does not improve over time, but much like the Xbox One, Pixlbit.com does require an internet connection ;) .

I can only say what I've said numerous times:  I'm not interested in Microsoft or Sony's next gen system.  There are many reasons; I can't afford it, I don't game as much, not into the DRM aspect, but the main reason is I have a huge backlog for all 3 current systems, plus a Wii U, so I see no justification to make the leap.

Have to sort of throw in with everyone on this list. I hate being a snarky cynic but so far microsoft isn't giving me many "positives" to work with. I'm hoping they listen to gamers and make beneficial adjustments over time. However, is it just me or did it feel as if they're not marketing their new system to "us" at all?

PS: Additionally I'm not happy the XboxOne could potentially kill used game purchasing, rentals, borrowing, and even sales/price drops. Consumers should have rights and so far microsoft seems to be trying to take them all away.

Not coming to their defense or anything, but so far Sony hasn't really stated what their intentions are in regards to used games and such either. They said that the PS4 will play them, however they have been avoiding further questioning on the matter.

See how EA pulled ALL of their online passes starting with Battlefield 4, I'm going to guess that Sony is in the same boat as Microsoft in terms of their stance on the Used Games situation. Just a speculation though!

I heard the used game deal was not true that the Xbox one will not be charging or any of that fot used games.
