Xbox One?.....

So the presentation for Xbox one wasnt very impressive for me and this is not the sony fangirl in me talking. They were way too much sprts and tv themed in it for me. Im a Gamer, being able to watch tv and stuff is yes, and plus but I couldnt care if its there or not. They had very lil on games and if they did it was Racing and Sports type ones. Especially Sports, I swear I could have tore my eyes out after hearing about fantasy sports teams for the 7th time. It was sad that Call Of Duty a series guilty of the biggest rehash syndrome in the world was a breath of fresh fucking air! I mean come on Microsoft, who are you really appealing to? Not Gamers if you ask me completely. I know Sony had that whole thing about sharing game stuff which wasnt popular with a bunch of people but atleast it was Gamer related. While the console can do some pretty neat stuff like the swtiching between things like games, internet, and the tv feature quickly the lack of game centeration is a concern. Not all questions regarding the system werent answered either. They never actually fully answered the always online question and they kept saying connected and it jsut makes me wonder if it is always online. They didnt announce if they were doing away with retail verisons or if they were gonna allow used games to be played on the system. The reveal wasnt impressive nor informing as I expected it to be. This is what the delay was for? This? Sports?

The Halo Tv series is kind of cool but it still was a let down for me. I was never gonna leave the PS4 but the conference didnt really push me to want to have a Xbox One anytime soon. Maybe E3 will give me a reason to own one at some point.

Also, am I the only person that thinks the design for the system is similar to PS2 bulky verison?

That Reveal was a bigger disappointment to me than the time I realized that the WWF was fake...

I think I was the most disappointed when I finally exceited and realized I wasnt a getting a remake with better graphics voices for Final Fantasy 9. This is nearly its equal. Its gonna take some big time franchise like Fable and GOW to get me to buy one or some really good new ones.

LOL! Final Fantasy 9 was a great game. Its my fave FF game and I still love playing it even today. I remember when FF10 released and everyone was hopeing for remakes of 7,8, and 9. once I accepted it wasnt happening it was the saddest day ever in my life :(

FF9 is by far my favorite of the series too! The characters were so out there that they were incredible memorable! I just love the setting and overall story as well!

I loved the characters especially in that game, the story was amazing yes but for me the characters just made it ten times better. That game taught me more about life then half my school could in a damn day. People say games dont teach you anything and their wrong.

Yep, let's talk about FF IX. I love that game. Far more interesting than the Xbox None.

Oh yeah, Vivi Rules! That is all.

Yes indeed, sadly its also probably the most underated game in the series. Its the last REAL Final Fantasy as far as I'm concerned.

As for Microsoft, they seem to have completely lost touch with the fact that it is supposed to be a game console, not a glorified TIVO apple phone for people who chug Monsters and watch Spike all day. Or maybe that IS their target audience.

It looks way to much like a HTPC.  Why wouldn't i just build my own?

Nicoleb1989

Its looks like the old bulky PS2 in my opinion -_- which is creepy...

Well it looks to me like a voice activated entertainment center last time i checked i thought xbox was a gaming console but the more i saw of it it just looks like a glorified mancave for sports, movies, fantasy football and of course call of duty woo hoo sounds like a no brainer what system im getting lol.

Nicoleb1989

Not me, its gonna take a lot of good games to be released on it before my money goes near it. Im gonna stick with my PS4, it knows I like games and so does Sony.

Lol thats the no brainer im going with the ps4 not the mancave lol i could give a ratts ass about fantasy football lol, you honestly thought i would go with that joke of a system its ps4 for me this time and its sad cause the 360 was a good syste.

Lol yea the ps4 is definitely the best looking system and this coming from a 360 gsmer lol.

The system seems big and boxy. Not an attractive machine. I like being able to jump out of a game really quickly to look at a video or search the web or even open a window on the side while playing. I do that now with walkthoughs on a Mac right next to my TV while playing a game. Pretty cool to have all that on one screen.

I was wondering where I heard Xbox One before and in thinking of old games I came across it. The Playstation One. Remember that?

Well I never even thought of that at the moment. I personally am sticking with that it resembles the bulky PS2. Its what I first thought of when they showed it off.

Yea, it does look like the launch PS2 a bit. I just put the PSone picture up for fun. The Xbox One looks nothing like it. I kinda wish the Xbox One had more of the style of the PSone though. The PSOne was a good design. I got rid of mine a while back because of the PS2 backwards compatibility but now I want it back. It's so cute.

I thought it was just called the PlayStation just saying.....

This was a special version of the PlayStation that came out really late. Call it the PlayStation Slim if you will. It was smaller and way cuter. Here's the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_(console)#PSone

Oh i see its equivalent to the ps2 and ps2 slim i gotcha

In the Xbox reveal video they mentioned Microsoft now has 300,000 servers for Xbox Live world wide. Wow!

There must be a boom in jobs maintaining server farms right now. Humm...

It does look like a PC server turned on it's side to be honest, which is exactly what it is, really. It's trying hard to be an all-in-one type of thing. I'm loving the WiiU right now.

Nicoleb1989

05/21/2013 at 03:59 PM

I'll have a Wii U again but it will prolly be once I have my PS4 secure and paid for. I also figure by that time more games will be announced and maybe released for it so the library will be bigger. Im glad your enjoying your Wii U!

It does look a bit like a PS2, yeah. I think it looks a bit sleeker, but I see where you're coming from.

Nicoleb1989

05/21/2013 at 04:11 PM

It does but its not thats for damn certain, lol. The Ps2 was solely games, this is for everything practically with a small interest in games -_-. i swear, what happened to our world!

I just got home from work so I haven't read anything about the new Xbox announcements.  As soon as it has enough fun games that I want to play, then I'll really be interested.

mothman

05/21/2013 at 08:06 PM

Unless by "fun games I want to play" you mean FPS's like Halo and Call of Duty, Bromance games like Gears of War or yet another Fable I'm afraid you're out of luck Cary.

Oh I forgot yearly repainting of the same old sports games.

The thing is a big yawn.

Nicoleb1989

05/21/2013 at 08:17 PM

Now good sir, Fable might be getting its next installment soon. Gears Of War has a game on there wiki that might be the next title too, lol! Those would make it worth at some point to get one. By some point I mean maybe a year or 2 or even 3 down the road, lol

That's how long it took before I picked up the first Xbox. This gen I fear they will only pander to the lowest common denominator which other than certain multiplat "Western" RPGs counts me and indeed most of us out.

It looks like a VCR to me, maybe Microsoft is keeping it old school Cool

Cliff Bleszinski's brother tweeted the other day about how the console resembled a DVR. Considering Microsoft is convinced (above all else) that you're not getting the most out of your television, that's probably not an accident.
