Update(s): No need to be online to play!
That's a plus.. I suppose..

NO backwards compatibility for Xbox, 360, or XBL Arcade Games.

No word on the ability to play Used games so far...

Ok… I can’t be the only person who watched the Xbox Reveal and thought… WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?

Seriously…

Is it an Xbox, or a TV Guide Box?

XboxOne is a HORRIBLE name also.

And is there no power button?
Awesome.. I can’t wait to be drinking with a couple friends and try to shout over them just to turn the fucking thing on….

And am I the only one who caught the ambiguity of their ‘Cloud-Powered’ system? Which to me, it’s their subtle way of saying ‘Fuck you, this shit has to be online 24/7’.

No rumors were addressed at all either.
Sure, we got to see the console, but that was the only thing they did better than the PS4.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I want games… Not an interactive, voice-activated TV guide!!!

I’ll give credit where credit is due though; I really dig the idea of flipping from TV to Game without changing my input. That’s pretty badass. I guess…

I do not like what the "One" stands for.  I already own a set top box, and a blu-ray player.  What makes them think that I really want just "One" thing hooked up to my t.v.

Also, they claim that there are 15 exclusives...  why didn't they show more than two of them?

I am leaning towards a ps4 more and more.

I think XboxOne is the dumbest name they could've come up with.. I was perfectly fine with them simpling calling it Xbox

Im conviced now for a ps4 that was the most ludacris system anouncement i ever seen so basicly if my kids come running in the living room yelling and one says off my entire system is shutting down yea thats a brite idea and of course the fact that CoD is there flagship game just sinched me not getting a Xbox One and i agree gay name lol.

the worst part was that remedy game with the life action intro that looked like it was shot in 1998.

Yeah.. I was thinking "Oh my God.. These graphics are incredible!".. Then I realized the people weren't CGI'd...

What if you yell "Fuck you!" at the TV while playing Dark Souls and it switches over to Playboy Channel? OMG! You are doing it wrong Microsoft.

Its a sad day when I, a call of duty disliker actually like the game to some degree and its because it was practically the only thing i liked most about the conference. Yes, the flipping though stuff thing is nice but i mean come the fuck on! Im not in it for tv, im not in it for fucking sports! Im gonna go back to hugging my PS3 and telling it its older brother is looking nicer everyday!

asrealasitgets

05/21/2013 at 02:48 PM

It was the only new game they showed, next to the racing and sports games that are always shown.

Collar Duty...

They got new dogs..

Maybe it's some kind of tv box that they mistakenly named a Xbox? I could care less about tv. I don't even watch tv. Next gen is looking pretty awful at this point. I guess I'm done with modern gaming.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:00 PM

Yeah.. PS4 left a lot to be revealed yet, but so far it's showing way more promise than the XboxOne..

Aboboisdaman

05/21/2013 at 03:09 PM

Apparently there is a preowned fee. What happens if your Xbox One breaks? Does that mean you will have to buy all your games over? Maybe they should have named it Xbox Done. Tongue Out

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:12 PM

Yeah.. There's a lot of info to be released between now and release for Xbox and PS4. But so far, PS4 is looking better and better.

AND!!

Sony's stock rose 8.5% DURING the Xbox Reveal, LOL!!

I was watching all that opening stuff about tv and snapping and voice commands and I had to admit, it's some impressive tech and software...but I don't care. Never before have I been playing a game or watching a movie and thought, "If only I could skype my friend on the tv while watching!" Seriously, I just wanna play games. I am curious to know what he meant about dynamic achievements though.

Oh yeah, and terrible name, worse than Xbox 360 which I always thought was kind of silly. Microsoft is great at coming up with cool codenames and then botching the real name. How cool would it be if we were all playing our Microsoft Xenons today and were looking forward to Xbox Infinity?

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:24 PM

I think the Skype was a cool feature, I'd like to be able to Skype with old friends while playing Madden, just so I could watch them cry after my punter throws a 50 yard touchdown... lol

The snap-feature would be neat if I was stuck and needed IE to look up a gamefaq, but that's all I would really use it for probably..

I was too busy watching IPL Cricket while working. Seeing what the people at GameDebate and the NGR Thug Mansion were saying, they echo your sentiments.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:40 PM

Yeah, it's pretty much the same throughout the entirety of the internet, with only a few people being ok with everything they presented.

And how's Cricket? I've never watched it before!
Perhaps I'll try to catch it sometime!

brighat

05/21/2013 at 03:49 PM

Twenty20 Cricket is a fast-paced and more exciting version of the game. Raucous fans, cheerleaders, Bollywood stars and intrigue. I started to watch it back in 2011. There's still 3 playoff games left. I don't where Americans can watch it, though. Roger Sportsnet World airs the games here in Canada. It's very similar to baseball, which was derived from it.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:55 PM

Awesome! Thanks for the info Brig, I'll have to check that out!

I was 'forced' to upgrade my current satellite package just so I could watch the rest of the NHL Playoffs, so maybe I'll be able to find some Cricket on one of the obscure channels I haven't really gave any attention to.

Well, they only have nineteen days until E3, so I guess they might be saving more. But the voice activation only and name sound really dumb. I'll have to watch all this stuff for myself, though.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/21/2013 at 03:57 PM

I hope so. I have my fingers crossed for a power button. Total voice activation is a MAJOR turn off for me..

I just got home from work so I haven't read anything about the new Xbox announcements.  As soon as it has enough fun games that I want to play, then I'll really be interested.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

Hopefully you're not looking to wait and start building according to a Used game collection since they're charging a fee for all used game installations!

Cary Woodham

05/22/2013 at 07:58 AM

I don't really buy used games much at all.  Most of the time, it's not a very good deal.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

Whenever I first got my PS3 (I joined the party late, so I got a PS3 last year!), I went out and got a whole bunch of games for $40. This included Demon's Souls, God of War III, InFamous, Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, etc.

I think I made out pretty well

Microsoft wants to take over the gaming market, so they're trying to appeal in a broad way. "Hey, people! You can do EVERYTHING on the Xbox One!" But 99% of gamers just want to play good games on their consoles. I'm also afraid this is the future of gaming, consoles doing everything for you. And speaking to your Xbox One.....is that really gonna work as smoothly as the guy showed? I can just see people shouting at the system because it won't respond lol.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/22/2013 at 07:01 AM

Games and specs should have been the #1 priority of the Reveal. I'm not entirely sure what they were thinking whenever they spent half of their time on gimmicks, and the other half on stuff no one gets overly excited about

GeminiMan78

05/21/2013 at 09:43 PM

XBox None is what they should call it seeing as it does none of the things I want a console to do. If any of these next gen systems want to impress me give me these things.

1. Backward compatability

2. A massive HD

3. Zero load times

4. Hardware that won't puss out and die after just six months.

5. And a deverse liabrary of games covering every genre, not just a bunch of FPS.

Instead of listening to some number crunching market guy they need to start listening to the people they want to sell their shit to.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/22/2013 at 06:59 AM

I hear you. Backwards compatibility was a big issue with me. I have nearly 100+ games for my 360, so it would have been nice to have had that option.

Halochief90

05/22/2013 at 05:50 AM

In honour of the Xbox One name, I now am calling the PS4 the PS One.

I don't think this reveal could have been worse. What's even more mind-boggling is that Microsoft somehow thought all of these "features" were things that the public would get excited about.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/22/2013 at 06:59 AM

I was perfectly fine with the rumor of them calling it Xbox.

While XboxOne DOES make sense (It's supposed to be an All in One system), it just doesn't sit well.

They better have me shitting rainbows for E3 if I am to consider this system.

The name is absurd. I hope they did not pay someone a ton of cash to come up with it. My guess is some high priced ad exec who does not game at all came up with it. It's the"one" thing your living room cannot be without!

Chris Yarger Community Manager

05/23/2013 at 06:04 AM

I was really hoping they'd simply call it Xbox, but nay, that wasn't the case.

Of course though, I was also hoping they would show games, but they fooled me there as well.

NSonic79

05/24/2013 at 11:20 PM

It wasn't what I expected. I'll say that. My first thought though was why didn't they just go with the idea where games would be one console and the rest the multimedia console?
