Live PlayBit Tonight: Super Mario Bros. 3

Join Jason Ross to watch the replay of one of the most popular games of all-time!

We've all played this one (I hope). Super Mario Bros. 3. It's one of the top-selling games of all time, even before being rereleased. Mario first dons a power-up that lets him fly, there are colorful, challenging stages that are well designed, and there's even something of a fun and interesting narrative throughout the game. SMB 3 is a classic, and now I invite you to join me as I play through some of Super Mario Bros. 3.

I remember my mom picking this one up for me back in the day. The good old days!

Yeah, this is the last game that I remember my mom playing with me. I remember seeing The Wizard back in the day and being wicked jealous that those guys got to play it before me. My mom and I went to pick it up at Toys R' Us the day it came out. First ever day one pick-up.

While the first Prime title took many design inspirations from Super Metroid, I didn’t enjoy Super Metroid at first, mostly because I played it through less than reputable means. Once I got to play it on the Wii Virtual Console, I finally understood why this game is considered an SNES classic. Super Metroid sports great game design, with a wonderful atmosphere unparalleled on any 16-bit system. At only 30 cents on the Wii U eShop until June 16, there’s little reason to not give this excellent title a shot.
