I expanded this thread to include anything at all related to Borderlands for your Forum pleasure.

[old post] I'm playing Borderlands 2 with a friend and will be playing it for at least all of Februrary. So if anyone has any tips, if you've played it, or want tips, if I can give any, then post away.

I got one question. The Bane quest line gives you a cursed weapon. It's a SMG that does tons of damage and is quite usefull to me when I'm knocked down. The problem is it's cursed. While you're using the weapon, you can barely move and every shot and reload comes with a yelp from a midget that is very high pitched and super annoying. Not only that, but it messes with gun selection on the d-pad, always changing the position of the weapons. After a while the yelping on the SMG spills over to your other weapons so that any sound you make comes with wild yelping. This curse does not go away if you sell the weapon, but I noticed it does go away if you enter a car or teleport to a new area. However, using the cursed SMG again starts it all over again. I guess my question is. How do I keep this helpful weapon and get rid of, or control, the midget yelping and weapon selection scramble?

Borderlands 2 and its predecessor are the only games that have made me feel umcomfortable playing and enjoying considering what Randy Pitchford and Gearbox got exposed doing with the Aliens: CM game.

This is not normal.

Actually didn't run into any cursed weapons during my playthrough of Borderlands 2. Or if I did, I don't remember using them, so I'm sorry I can't be of help on that one. I still have all the DLC to play at some point, but by the end of the game, I kind of lost interest and had to really push to get through it. I definitely didn't enjoy 2 quite as much as 1, though that could be because the novelty of the series had worn off.

I beat the main story line and am doing the first DLC Captain Scarlett.... I noticed that many achievements in the first game like ones for opening so many chests are now moved to Challenges that when full, give you slight stat boosts instead. Also there's an achievement for using purple or higher rarity items in every equipment slot. It's annoying that rarer items aren't always better items. Otherwise I would've gotten this achievement already.

After 100 plus hours I'm putting the controller down and moving on to other things. I've just really burned out on the game. I will return to finish the rest of the DLC sometime. My buddy is still playing after over 200 hours and just beat the game on True Vault Hunter Mode BY HIMSELF! Well, I was there cowering in the corner, but he did all the real damage.

I always start getting a bit fatigued by a game after 100 hours even if they are amazing like B2 or Dragon Quest VIII or Gears of War 3 etc.... I'll be back though.

I've been observing my friend Mark still playing B2. He's on 13 days of play time. That's over 300 hours. He's just starting to play on Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. That game is truely a loot 'em up. He shot this balloon and a rain storm of items came out of it. The game litterally rains loot! LOL

Borderlands 2 is 65% off and all the DLC is 50% off on Xbox 360's Spring Sale right now. I picked up all the DLC I didn't have.

Played another couple of weekends of B2 and played through all the main DLC on Normal Mode. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep was the best by far. So much fun in co-op.

KnightDriver, you might look at nexusmods to see if anyone has a mod patch for that annoying weapon situation.
