Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Coming to Retail

An Amazon posting points to a release on June 28 for the new version of the game. UPDATE: Capcom has confirmed the news.

Recently confirmed by a Capcom promo video, content from the Arcade edition of Super Street Fighter IV will be making its way to the home console version of the game in the form of DLC. A posting on Amazon indicates that a complete retail version of the game might be coming soon as well.

The DLC package, which has already been detailed, is said to include new characters Yun and Yang from Street Fighter III, Evil Ryu and Oni, as well as various roster balance tweaks and an update to the Replay Channel. These same upgrades will be applied to the retail package.

The retail edition of the game will be available on June 28 for $29.99 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, while the DLC will launch on XBLA on June 7 for 1200 MSP. Presumably the PSN DLC will be available alongside the retail release on the 28th, though Capcom has made no official confirmation.

UPDATE: Capcom has officially confirmed the game.

Well, up until this version of the title is released, the 3DS version is the definitive edition of the game, IMO. Extra costumes, more modes, all the characters. Until now. The price-point is a little surprising, given the cost of the 3D Edition, which retails around 39.99.

Chris and I will probably buy this DLC, but I have to wonder whether or not the DLC character costumes will be included in the retail version like they were in SSFIV 3D Edition.
