New Gears of War To Be Unveiled at E3

The July cover of Game Informer hints at what we may expect to happen.

Just when you thought that Epic would be taking a break from their beloved Gears of War franchise a new entry ends up being the cover story of the July issue of Game Informer.

The publication isn’t airing much at the moment; letting Microsoft take honors of unveiling the official name of the game as well as a teaser trailer at their E3 press conference this upcoming Monday.  What they would reveal, however, is that the game is aiming to be released on the Xbox 360, making it the fourth entry to appear on Microsoft’s current generation console.

The cover itself (see the article image) has been purposefully obscured in order not to give too much away, but we can see that someone is in cuffs – a city burning from an enemy attack behind him.  Who is this mysterious figure?  Why is he in chains?  We’ll know more in just a few days, but don’t let that stop you from speculating in the comments section below.

It's a prequil, and that's Marcus' dad.  That's my guess.

I bet it'll use Kinect! Yay!

I love GoW but I have no need to play yet another one. Even if this game keeps up the solid mechanics and level design the series is known for, to me it just seems like filler. The kind of filler you could see coming from a nautical mile away. I hope Microsoft's E3 press conference has more to offer than this. This is just business as usual.
