October is a Busy Month for XBLA

Numerous new titles are coming to Games on Demand, and several XBLA titles are going on sale.

This October, Microsoft brings brand new titles to XBLA's Games on Demand, and discounts to popular XLBA titles.

Specific games will be on sale each week of October, starting with Ubisoft's Prince of Persia Epilogue, which went on sale earlier this week. Next week, starting on October 12, the titles comprising EA's Hasbro Family Game Night (Connect 4, Battleship, Yahtzee, Sorry! Sliders, and Boggle) will also be discounted. Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode goes on sale October 19, and finally starting October 26 Fable II Pub Games will be discounted.

In addition to the XLBA discounts, Microsoft will be adding new titles to the Games on Demand Library each week of October. The release order is as follows:

October 6

- Call of Duty 3 (Activision)

- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (Ubisoft)

October 13

- Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar Games)

October 20

- Midnight Club Los Angeles (Rockstar Games)

- Army of Two (Electronic Arts)

- Sonic Unleashed (SEGA)

October 27

- Dead Space (Electronic Arts)

- DiRT (Codemasters)

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
