James Cameron's Avatar: The Game Gets a Release Date

Surprisingly it's coming out before the movie.

Gamers first heard of James Cameron's Avatar: The Game back in 2007, when Ubisoft announced that they would be developing the title using the same technology that is currently being used to create the movie in 3-D.

Back in May of this year at E3, James Cameron took the stage at the Ubisoft Press Event and provided attendees a verbal preview of what to expect from both the movie, and its video game adaptation.

Later on this year, it was announced that many famous Hollywood actors who starred in the movie, would be lending their voice talents to the videogames itself. These actors include Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Rodriguez, and Stephan Lang.

While bits and pieces concerning the project were released incrementally, gamers still had no word of an approximate release date. However today, it was discovered that Ubisoft had officially listed a release date for James Cameron's Avatar: The Game on their website.

According to the Ubisoft listing, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game will be available on December 1; two weeks before the movie is set to release. The game will release for Wii, DS, PSP, PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, and gamers who purchase the title for Xbox 360 or PS3 will be able to experience it in 3D provided they have the proper equipment.

Will this include ridiculously long speeches about nonsense I don't care about?
