September 2009 NPDs Initial Report

Sales are up overall as PlayStation 3 leads the consoles for the first time since its launch and Halo 3: ODST sells 1.5 million in less than two weeks.

During the period of August 30 to October 3, the DS lead all systems with just over 500,000 units and Halo 3: ODST sold over a million more than the second game on the list, Wii Sports Resort.

Analysts Predict That Beatles: Rock Band Outsold Guitar Hero 5

Both games have met sales expectations in their first month.

The Beatles: Rock Band reportedly sold between 1 million and 1.3 million copies compared to Guitar Hero 5's 700,000 to 800,000 copies according to Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter and Electronic Entertainment Design and Research's Jesse Divnich.
