With the year 2020 and the MLB World Series well underway, there’s no better time than now to talk about Super Baseball 2020. In 1991, SNK- the famed developer of such blockbusters as Metal Slug and Aero Fighters- released their spin on America’s favorite pastime in the arcades. Two years later, it was ported to the Sega Genesis with NuFX and Electronic Arts handling the programming and publishing. With its futuristic setting and easy controls, the game offered a level of enjoyment missing from baseball’s more realistic interpretations on the home console platform.

NeoGeo X Handheld Confirmed For Later This Year

How much will you pay for a 90s arcade cabinet in your hands?

A little over a month ago, we reported that an SNK NeoGeo portable handheld system was being produced, and today more details have been released on the retro-inspired product. Reports are coming in that Blaze, a "retro console and accessory specialist," has made a deal with SNK Playmore and distributor Tommo to bring the handheld console to store shelves.

SNK To Release New Portable Device

Here comes a new handheld!

Currently named simply “Neo Geo Portable Device,” SNK will be releasing a brand new portable at an unknown date in the future. The handheld system, which has yet to be priced, will come loaded with a total of 20 Neo Geo games, including Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, and Metal Slug.

Fourth Set of NeoGeo Titles Available on PSN

King of Fighters 96 and Metal Slug 2 make their debut on the service.

SNK Playmore USA is continuing to release titles for their NeoGeo Channel on the PlayStation Network. Today the company announced that two more titles will make up the fourth set, bringing the total available to 16. The King of Fighters '96 and Metal Slug 2 are now available for $6.99 and $8.99 for the PSP and PlayStation 3, respectively.
