Happy 10th anniversary Wii

Hello everyone, how are you?

            Nintendo Wii

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Wii, Nintendo's revolutionary console. I always thought the Wii was a great console, it wasn't the best but was really neat. So, in honor of it's anniversary, what are your favorite Wii games? What's your opinion of it? Did you get into the hype back then?

Well that's it for now, thanks for reading and Happy 10th anniversary Wii.

I have many good memories waiting in line at the garden center in Wal-Mart to get a Wii on launch day.  And then going to my friend's house later to plaly Wii Sports.

I did like the Wii a lot, but it still wasn't my favorite in the last console generation (I actually liked the 360 better).  The Wii had too many shovelware games and titles that depended on too much waggle.

I'll post my favorite Wii games on the other blog you wrote about your favorite Wii games.

I just remember waiting over a year for Dell Computers to have one I could order 'cause they were always sold out. I wanted it for Virtual Console and I did buy a bunch of games there, but I feel like I didn't use it as much as I wanted to. Just not enough time after the stuff on Xbox and PS3 I was playing. I never liked the Wiimote and Nunchuck controls. I got a classic controler and used it as much as possible. I do remember getting a friend of mine who doesn't play games to play it with Mark and I though. He really liked Wii Sports and got super good at it. That was fun for a few weeks. Haven't had that experience having two of my friends together at the same time to play video games since then.

I remember getting my Wii.  It was so fun, and Mario Galaxy was a revelation.  While not one of my favorite systems, I did enjoy it quite a lot!

I have great memories of the Wii, starting with how I got it.  My then-girlfriend (now wife) knew I wanted one really badly, so she ended up waiting for hours in lines in the morning at store openings to get me one for Christmas.  I think she said she went three times, but never got one. I had actually forgotten until right now as I'm writing this, but she finally ended up paying way too much on ebay for one. If I had known what she was was doing I would have told her it wasn't that important, but I really appreciated the gesture.

Also, it was a great time in my life to get one.  I had been out of college and working for about two years, but I was still living with my old college roomate and hanging out and drinking with friends most nights.  It was kind of the last year of my pre-adult life.  Once I got the Wii, we had a great many nights of playing Wii Sports.

I also got Zelda very early for it, and that was the last time that I played a video game with a frequent spectator (my then-roomate).  I miss the days of watching friends play games or having them watch me.  Although my wife doesn't mind the rather large amount of time I still play games, there is no way she is going to watch me as I play through them.

Although as the years went on I played it less and less, I still have about a couple dozen games for it.  Sadly, it's been gathering dust the last few years ever since I quit playing Xenoblade Chronicles.

I lined up outside Walmart at 4:00 am the morning of the launch to get one. When they finally opened the doors the manager came out and started counting people. Unfortunately he stopped counting at the EB Games manager in front of me. The rest of us were sent away.

Fortunately I know all the EB Games Managers and 3 days later I received a call from one of them telling me to get my butt over there. After waiting around at EB for an hour a shipment of Wiis came in and I was first in line.

Some of my favourites are:

Xenoblade Chronicles, Zack and Wiki, RE 4 Wii edition, The Mario Galaxy games, Fragile Dreams, Klonoa and a bunch more. I have over 50 games for it so in my mind it was well worth the investment.

I remember getting one on launch day. It's the one system I have an extensive list of games for over 250 and counting lol. Most of my collection is shovelware bargain bin buys that were like get five games for $20 type of deals. But I do have good wii games. That's why I did my bargain bin buys reviews!

I remember wanting a Wii, but ultimately never got any of those consoles (PS3 or 360 included). I played some games from that generation via Steam 2012 and later. I wouldn't mind buying a Wii on the cheap with some cheap games.
