Help me develop a "Big Boss" workout. (calling all ex military, sports players, outdoorsmen, etc.)

So I'm no stranger to exercise, but I got the idea to try something a bit different. I'm calling it the Big Boss Workout. Inspired by  Venomous Punished Snake in MGSV. He is one of the most dynamic characters you can control in a video game yet. A sneaking, sprinting, climbing, crawling, shooting, dive rolling, CQCing badass. I already do a weights workout, but I want to tailor that to help give me functional strength that would benefit me on the battlefield of life.  I know I'll have to really upgrade my cardio, Snake can haul ass in the game. Also work on pullups and other climbing-beneficial exercises.  Maybe train martial arts? (with throws, joint locks, boxing and whatever else he does in the game). Looking for suggestions, so any of you were in the military, sports, have experience in rock climbing, martial arts, etc. feel free to advise me. So far I have this:

My current, full body weight workout three times a week(although I might eliminate squats and replace with another major leg exercise. They make my butt too big. Gotta have a nice ass like Snake). Might cut it down to two and replace one day with bodyweight exercises.

Climbing exercises: regular pullups, dips, pull ups on odd surfaces. What else?

Running/cardio: of course distance jogging. Sprinting: what kind?

Trail running in the forest preserves: any tips?

Martial arts: any suggestions at all. Lowest priority, if I have the time.

Diet: what did they feed you in the military?

Military training: any suggestions on PT and training methods, equipment at all will help

This seems like a question for Reddit. I'm pretty sure I've come across a group of people there with the focus to get fit with a specific regime, and they even had their own subreddit... I can't find it at the moment. The best thing I can search is https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/.

Wanted to keep it a fun, video game related thing. Maybe even see how other people interpret the character. Reddit conversations often break down into e-peen competitions and self styled experts arguing over nothing.

hahahaha yeah that might happen.

I don't really know much about Metal Gear, so the only thing I can think of is that you'll need a good box to hide in.  Really the only things I know about Metal Gear is that Solid Snake likes to hide in boxes and has a frriend named Quiet.

I part time in a warehouse, so a good box isn't hard to come by.

Check out something in running called "fartlek" (Swedish for "speed play"). I'm still trying to finish my Couch to 5K program, so really not a whole lot of help otherwise. I am running some of my training on snowshoes, now that's a workout!

I want to trail run in the woods near me, but I'm worried about hidden divets and holes in the ground, low visibility, and other hazards. Assume I have to go slower than if I was on asphalt or a track.

I only trail run. Asphalt does horrible things to my knees. Yes, trail running is slower, you have to be much more aware of what's under your feet, and what's at eye level. Think of it as an obstacle course. One part of the trail system behind my house is all above-ground roots, foot placement is very important there. I invested in top-of-the-line trail running shoes because they're better at gripping roots and rocks and slippery surfaces. But I also invested in a cheaper pair to test out my IceSpikes (think really short drywall screws for the bottoms of your shoes) with. The IceSpikes are amazing, they grip glare ice! The other reason for a second pair of shoes was so that I wouldn't have to remove the screws to use my running snowshoes.

The trail running club that puts on the races that I'm registered for has a motto: "The road to hell is paved. Run trails."

I don't like to run on paved anything as well. It used to make my ankles hurt way back when I ran cross country in high school.

I'd like to look like Fassbender looks in the Assassin's Creed movie. I'm sure Ezio looks the same. So what does an assassin do for training? Well, lots of parkour free running and martial arts, I think. I'm starting tomorrow.

Fassbender probably did cross training in weights and calisthenics, plus aerobic work.  Someone like Ezio would have been taught whatever the sword techniques of the era would, plus gymnastics/circus training of the time. Very balletic, light footed, probably not heavily muscled, completely focused on function.

I like that. I'll have to do some of that in my own training.

I don't know about video game character inspiration, but I used to do short but intense body weight exercises from a channel called zuzkalight in order to burn fat.

When you see it, the answer is yes I actually did the exercises, not just look. I did look though ... she could probably pull off Cammy cosplay if you want to tie this to video games.

There's a similar channel called Davidsfitness I used to use as well. He could do Luke Cage cosplay. Forget if Luke Cage has ever had a video game, but seems like he'd at least have been in one.

I like watching female fitness channels, but not for the obvious reason. They often have very interesting exercise selections, less ego involved in terms of muscle size and how much weight they can lift, proper form (as a result of not trying to impress others in the gym with heavy weights they can't handle), emphasis on flexibility, wellness. Just because a guy is big doesn't mean he is fit. Especially Big Boss fit.

One thing you have to be careful of is that they show you a 100 different exercises. But the reality it is you need to have a consistent set of exercises per session to get results in those exercises. And you can only do so many in a session. So like in my weight lifting, I have two different routines that I alternate every other day (e.g. A-B-A on M/W/F, two days off, then B-A-B), each routine has about 5-8 lifts.

Yeah, my friend from college is actually a kinesiology professor now and used to be a part-time trainer. He gave me some cool A/B day workouts I still use when I get back into things (A = bench, rows, squats, bicycle crunches; B = curls, overhead press, lunges, planks). To be honest, the only zuzkalight exercise I did was a 12-minute high-intensity fat loss exercise, which I did consistently.
