Hiya everyone, how are you. We are gonna take a break from games for a while and switch the subject to anime. I really love anime, alot of my favorite anime is from the 90's, thanks to Toonami and the like. I...really haven't watched much of the modern stuff. Last modern or current anime I watched was in 2007, so that was a very long time ago. I'm guessing the current anime didn't interest me. Except one...

One Punch Man

I remember hearing how everyone was so hyped and praising the anime when it was airing as a sub at the time. It definitely caught my interest. But waited for an eventual dub since if it's this popular, it will no doubt get a dub like every popular anime. Here's the thing, I almost always try watching anime as a dub rather than a sub. Some anime, the subtitles move too fast to be able to read them in time, and why do I want to read when I'd rather watch was going on? Sometimes I do compromise that rule when it's an anime that wont get a dub or it never had one. And I knew it would get a dub.

One Punch Man

One Punch Man is an anime about a superhero named Saitama, a freelance superhero, and he can defeat any monster or opponent with... One Punch. Yes all it takes is one punch, hence the name of the anime. He's really strong...

One Punch Man

But the thing, he's so powerful that he's literally bored of having so much strenght that he constantly looks for worthy opponents to challenge. Yes he's that strong. But other than that, the anime is so crazy, like you have to see it for yourself. The plot is very good, I don't think I've ever seen an anime that involves superheroes. The music is very good as well. Even the opening gets you pumped. The visuals in this are amazing. Again you have to see this.

I can see all the hype behind it. This is the best modern anime I've ever seen in a long time. I highly recommend it, and there's a season 2 in the works. I'm so hyped for that.

One Punch Man

So those are my thoughts on One Punch Man. I tried not to give away too much, which is why the post is so short.

Well thanks for reading and...

the visuals look great.  I used to be huge into Cowboy bebop. I need to watch more anime, apparently there is some great stuff going around.

Oh man, I used to watch Cowboy Bebop too. I should rewatch that at some point. Yeah, I'd say look around, there's some good stuff it seems.

I just can't seem to get into most anime, so you'll have to pick a favorite character for me.

You know who COULD defeat One Punch Man?  Kirby!

Hmmmm... someone cool obviously, but who. I'll get back to you on that.

And yes, Kirby can beat him since Kirby is the strongest character in video games :)

This is one of those animes that the hype ruined it a bit for me.  I heard about it about a year ago and it was very hyped.  I finally watched it a few months ago.  I thought it was good, but I was expecting more for it.  I've been trying to catch up on a lot of anime recently.  I come across a lot of old and new titles that have surprised me.

I like my anime dubbed too.  I'll watch subbed anime if there is no other choice.

Yeah, I suppose it happens to alot of people when something has so much hype, then when you get around to it, it's like it was okay. I really loved it though, probably because I haven't seen anything in years tbh.

And yeah, I've been watching quite a few too that I'll get on to in later posts. I got for dubs too, but if I have no choice as in the anime has no dub, then subbed it is.

I prefer dubbed as well, though I'll see the sub just to compare sometimes.

There was a guy that actually worked on anime on an IGN podcast I watched part of last night. I forget his name, but him working on Legend of Korra is the only reason I watched that clip. He also worked on other projects in South Korea and more in L.A.

Yeah, I mainly go for dubbed too, but have to use a sub when there is no dub, like I'll point that out in one later on.

Oh that's really cool. I've been meaning to watch Legend of Korra. I should give it a go.

Oh man, other people who prefer dubs! I am in my element. I usually prefer the English voice acting because of their performances. A lot of Japanese voice actors seem to be set to 11, no matter the dialogue. I find the English acting to be more nuanced. I watch most of my anime dubbed. The exceptions are The Slayers and Dragon Ball, which I refuse to watch in English.

I feel like anime is a lot like pop music: each generation has their hits, but the stuff that comes later just isn't FOR you; it's for a younger generation. As such I have not been able to click with modern anime. The newest show I got into was Naruto. I do want to watch One Punch Man because it looks like a throwback to stuff like Kenshin and Dragon Ball, but I bounced right off of Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill, and Gurren Lagann.

Yes, I prefer dubs too! Yeah same here, I usually prefer english voice acting over anything else. I watch most of the anime I watch dubbed too, but sometimes I have to compromise and watch a sub if there is no dub. I'll point that out in a later post.

Yes, you're definitely spot on right there about anime. Just like with music I suppose. Yes, definitely give One Punch Man a try, not sure if you'll like it, but definitely feels like a throwback to those anime. Never seen those last anime you listed, but know how popular they are.

Oh dear God, the screeching voices on subbed, quirky, female characters. Ed was bad enough in English *shutters*

Looks great. I have like no time for TV at the moment though. It's all games, games, games, and some music.

It is. Yeah, sometimes it's either play a game or watch something, so I just play a game. I try to make time for anime or something to watch though.
