BaD#15

Hiya everyone, how are you? Everyone is posting games that they are excited for, so I thought why not? Granted the games I'm excited for are on Nintendo platforms only. So here are the games I'm most excited for this year...

Fire Emblem Warriors

Fire Emblem Warriors: I remember saying in a post along time ago how Fire Emblem would make a cool Warriors styled game. I've yet to properly try a Fire Emblem game unfortunately. But it seems like this is gonna be like Hyrule Warriors, which I loved so much. Except it'll have Fire Emblem characters instead. Definitely excited for it.

Super Bomberman R

Super Bomberman R: I haven't played a Bomberman game since the N64 and seeing him back makes me happy. The game looks like it can be an insanely fun local co-op game or online. It just looks so fun. Not sure if I'll be able to grab it soon, but definitely interested in it.

Ever Oasis

Ever Oasis: This is probably the only 3DS game to make it on this list. It's an rpg by Grezzo, the developers behind the N64 Zelda remakes on the 3DS. It looks really neat and definitely excited to pick this up. I'm just glad that Nintendo plans to keep the 3DS around for a while long despite the Switch being in the market soon.

Yooka-Laylee

Yooka-Laylee: I was so excited when they announced this. A platformer made by former Rare developers? Yes please! Unfortunately with the Wii U version cancelled, I thought I wasn't gonna be able to try it. But they announced that instead, a Switch version was in the works, thus my faith in it is restored. I can't wait to try this.

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2: I really loved the first Splatoon, it's one of the freshest games Nintendo has had in a while. It's so fun and the music was so good too. The sequel looks like it will top down the first one from the footage they've shown. And best of all, JETPACKS!!!!!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: This one was a game I did not expect. This was a huge surprise. I assumed if they did make a sequel, it would be for Xenoblade Chronicles X, since it left more questions than answers at the end. This is from someone who's finished the game twice. I felt that the story on the first Xenoblade finished up nicely, but I'll take a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles. More Xenoblade isn't bad.

Link vs. Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Link vs. Wild: This is like the 3rd (and hopefully the last) time it'll appear in this list of games I want to try this year. After so many delays, it feels so unreal that the release date is right around the corner. You can bet that I'm super excited for this. It looks like this is the Zelda game I've been waiting for since Twilight Princess and that was over 10 years ago. Plus the game is getting an Expansion Pass that'll get even more content to a already massive game. Hell. Yes.

Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Galaxy 3... er... Super Mario Odyssey: Not really Super Mario Galaxy 3, but I'll take it. The game just looks so amazing and so much fun. We haven't had a Mario game where we can go and explore everywhere since Sunshine. Everyone has wanted a Mario game like that in ages, so I'm glad they are doing it. This is possibly the game I'm most excited for to try on the Switch. A Mario game convinces me to get the next platform, and while this isn't a launch game, I'm just as excited to try it either way. Haven't been this excited for Mario since Galaxy 1 and 2.

Well those are all the games I'm excited for in 2017. Thanks for reading and...

I really hope Nintendo doesn't mess up an open world Zelda game.

I hope so. They've shown alot so far, but considering the size of the game, it's hardly anything lol

Did you see my Most Anticipated Games of 2017 list blog?  Lots of the same games that are on yours.

I just read it and we do have a lot of similar games on our lists! Not sure if I'll grab all of them though.

I'm super happy they are going back to playing around with Mario's hat in this new game. It makes me want to play Mario 64 again.

Yeah, that's what I thought too when they showed that. Might need to replay SM64 now lol

Yeah, I'm so excited for Zelda, it's been so long since. Yeah they haven't showed much of Ever Oasis since, E3 I think?

I'll put all those games on my rental list when they get near release.

It really hit me the other day when I was playing the open world section of Lego Marvel Avengers how so many games are going open world. I suppose that's good but it sure adds a lot of play time to a game. So many places those collectibles can hide. I'm beginning to maybe stop item hunting since there's so much real estate to explore. I only got one lifetime.

Yeah, that seems to be the "genre" for this generation of games. Alot of games are open world now, maybe it has to do with the fact that they can do so much more with the hardware now that they couldn't before.

Seems easier to me in a way. As a developer you just create a large place and hide a lot of things in there rather than try and lead you around through a story. Probably not easier though. You're probably right. The technology allows for it now, so why not. People like to wander and do their own thing as Minecraft has shown, and GTA.

I am so hyped for that mario game.  Mario 64 is my favorite in the series, and this looks a lot like it.  Can't wait.

Never heard of Ever Oasis before, but now it's on my radar.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Mario. SM64 was a really good game, though I prefer Galaxy 1 and 2 more.

There hasn't been much info on Ever Oasis, hope they show more of it.
