Hello everyone how are you? Seems like these past few years I've been posting about video game compilations, like Jak and Daxter and Metal Gear during BaD. So I aim to continue with that (semi) tradition. Today I will talk about the Sly Cooper Collection as in all 3 games in that collection.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus: Sly's first outing. With his partners in crime, Bentley and Murray, they go and seek out the Fiendish Five to recover the Thievius Raccoonus, which is a book that contains a bunch of thieving skills from Sly's ancestors. I really liked the game. I really enjoyed the stealth mechanics in the game as well as Sly's thieving skills. I also like the sound Sly makes when he's sneaking around. The music and sound is really good too. It's really funny, I really like the look of the characters as some have this really stylized exaggerated look to them and feels like a cross between a comic and a cartoon if I were to describe the game. It's a really fun game.

 

Sly 2: Band of Thieves: Sly is back with his 2 partners in crime and this time they are on a mission to stop the Klaww Gang and do some pilferring along the way. This time you ca not only play as Sly, but as Bently and Murray as well. That's really cool and each of them have their own set of abilities, strenghts, and weaknesses. The game starts off really good, reminds me of how Uncharted 2 started off in the museum heist, because that's exactly how it starts off here too. The game has plenty of variety to it and never gets boring as the different playstyles of the characters keep it fresh. Definitely my favorite game in the collection. Oh and Dimitri's theme song is so awesome.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves: Sly is back (again) and this time more people join his merry band of thieves. This time Sly and his band of thieves are trying to get into the Cooper Vault but a new bad guy who was once part of the original Cooper Gang wants all the fortune to himself. I really liked this game, but the thing is I felt it might of lost focus. It has more playable characters outside of Sly, Bentley, and Murray. I think maybe that's the reason why it lost more focus? It just feels too different with too many characters. Sometimes less is more and it's the exact opposite here. Ot's still a fun game but definitely not as good as the previous 2 games.

If I were to rank the games, Sly 2 is 1, Sly 1 is 2, and Sly 3 is well 3. Haven't tried 4 yet. Haven't tried the mini games yet unfortunately. Definitely think the collection is worth getting, it's really cheap too and you can either get it on the PS3 and on the Vita. It's a fun series and definitely worth a look if you love platfomers.I think the series could make a cool cartoon since the characters are kinda designed to ook like that, especially in the animated cutscenes. Maybe next year it'll be about the Ratchet and Clank Collection but that one is expensive now, so that might not happen. We'll see.
