Wii U games that should make the Switch

Ports

Ports. Wii U ports on the Switch are a pretty controversial topic. For many, it's a great proposition because chances majority of Switch owners have never tried those games on the Wii U. This can attribute to many things like simply not having a Wii U or skipping it entirely. For others, chances are that they had all those Wii U games and seeing them on the Switch with new content feels like a slap in the face because they supported the Wii U. That and some of those games not worth the full price on the Switch when people might of gotten the games cheaper on the Wii U.

For me however, I am in the middle. Like it sucks that I have all those games and might need to buy them again but I also think that they are great if you are buying them for the first time. I know I don't have to buy them but it doesn't change the fact that I now have the inferior version. However there are ports of Wii U games on the Switch that I am in favor of like Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 1&2, and Captain Toad. There are some Wii U games I would love to see on the Switch however. Here are those games...

 Super Mario 3D World

Super Mario 3D World: 3D World might not of been as good as the Galaxy games but it was still a very fun game. All the (original) characters felt reminiscent of their Super Mario Bros. 2 counterparts which made it feel like a 3D version of SMB2. It was even better with more people. That's where the game truly shines and that's the co-op mode. You can either go it alone or play with up 3 more people making it a total of 4 players. I don't think we've ever had a 3D platformer that allows 4 players but Nintendo really nailed it. But now imagine that on the Switch. Each player would only need one Joy-Con controller but they can go a step beyond that as well and include online co-op. I think the game is perfect for that. I would definitely purchase it again if it included that.

Pikmin 3

Pikmin 3: The 3rd game in the Pikmin franchise and one that many argue is the best entry and the only HD entry. I'm personally more of a fan of 2 but 3 is a very fantastic game. The gameplay is fundamentally the same as the previous 2 entries but they added some really welcome tweaks and additions to the gameplay. For starters, you are in control of 3 characters and they also now let you select a path for the other 2 characters while you are off doing something else. A welcome addition since time management is absolutely crucial. This would make a great addition to the Switch. Plus they could add an online mode to the challenge mode too. Could be fun.

 Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE: No one really knew what this game was back when it was first announced as a FE X SMT game. When they finally showed how it would be it was more different than what everyone expected but it looked really neat. It's a really fun game with certain flair and style, however they took out content and made some really questionable changes that shouldn't be made to begin with. I definitely think the game deserves a second chance though since it was overlooked in the wake of all the controversy surrounding it and the fact that it was on the Wii U. Which wasn't a bad thing but you know, the Wii U wasn't exactly a hot seller. I wouldn't mind a new port of it but without any changes as it was originally intended.

 Star Fox 0

Star Fox 0:  I was excited for SF0 when they first showed it and it looked fun, unfortunately the final game wasn't what many expected. It's a very fun game but there were some questionable choices regarding the controls. If you've played it then you know what I mean. I think the game had potential but you would have to use the Gamepad for almost everything including motion controls. The game could of been good if they allowed a traditional control scheme and they can fix that problem with a Switch version. They could even throw in an online mode if they wanted. That would be cool. Oh and Include Star Fox Guard as well.

 Fatal Frame

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water: Many of you probably remember this game as the game Nintendo released in America as a digital-only game. Here's the problem with that, the game is so big that it doesn't fit on the limited storage the Wii U has/had, especially if you have a lot of digital games on it. Think about that for a minute. That and they changed some of the costumes in the game as well. I would love to see this game get ported to the Switch as a physical game with no changes in the content. They can still have these costumes and the ones that got changed. I definitely think it'll sell well on the Switch and I don't see too many horror games aside from the RE: Revelations games and a few others. They would need to rework the game since it used the Gamepad but I'm sure they can do it.

And those are all the Wii U games I'd love to see on the Switch. What Wii U games would you love to see on the Switch? This is just one of my may E3 posts before E3. I left some options out because that's for another post coming soon. Thanks for reading and later.

I want Skyward Sword. Without motion controls.

I still really want to play a Fatal Frame ... And a GIMICKLESS Star Fox update FFS.

I'd like a Switch port of TMS #FE, as well as Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.

I'm not a big fan of Wii U ports to Switch most of the time.  Like, I loved Captain Toad, but I'm not buying the same game again full price for a couple of new Odyssey levels.  Just make a sequel, Nintendo.  But even some of their sequels feel like enhanced ports, like Splatoon 2.

But some of the ports I am a little conflicted on.  Like Hyrule Warriors.  All the DLC content in the Switch version looks neat, but I only enjoyed playing that game on Wii U with a second player, and I don't have as much opportunity to do that anymore, so I probably won't get it a second time.

Also, even though most people are saying the new Smash game isn't a port, I honestly wouldn't mind if it was, just with all the DLC.  I never did get the DLC in the Wii U version because that adds up moneywise and I just didn't have time to play it all then.

Totally down on Fatal Frame, as long as they make a physical copy.  That's why I didn't get it on Wii U because it was a memory hog and the US was the only region that didn't get a physical version.

But Star Fox Zero?  Yeah...no.  I never want to see that game again.  That was one of Nintendo's worst games they've ever made, right alongside Donkey Kong Barrel Blast.

Pikmin 3 definitely. I have the game now but no Wii-U yet. Maybe I could skip right over to Switch if it gets ported. They're making a Pikmin 4 for Switch, so it could happen.
