Blog a Day #21

Hello everyone, how are you?

The 3DS might be winding down but I still use my 3DS regularly. I played some really great games last year, some were new and some were older games. Well anyway, here are the 3DS games I played last year...

Pokemon Ultra Moon

Pokemon UltraMoon: If you remember, this one made an appearance last year. If you know me you know I love Pokemon and yes I was excited to try this one out. Thing is I feel they released these versions too soon shortly after the release of the original Pokemon Sun and Moon versions. I can imagine the post game is amazing though. I should get back to it though, I was about 20% of the way into the game.

Fantasy Life

Fantasy Life: This one was another recomendation from a friend and ended up getting this as a birthday gift last year. It's an rpg with life simulation elements in it. In the game, you make your own character and you get to start a new Life, think of it like a job class in other rpgs. You can choose to be a paladin, a mercenary, or you could be a chef or a fisherman among other classes. I gotta say the game is so much fun, sometimes I played really late into the night. I put a fair number of hours into the game and I'm nowhere near done. I definitely plan on getting back into the game again soon.

Metal Gear Solid 3D

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D: I actually got this back in 2016 and I was trying it out on my then new New 3DS XL. I don't know why I never beat it then. I came back to it last year and was halfway through it and I really loved the 3D effect in the game, it looked amazing. It's the exact same game you played on the PS2 or if you're like me, the same game you played on the HD Collection on the PS3. But with some added features like the 3D Effect and more. It even has a camera mode and you can take a picture of whatever and turn it into a custom camo print for Snake to use in the game. I think this is definitely my favorite version of the game. Definitely worth checking out.

Luigi's Mansion

Luigi's Mansion: Lastly, Luigi's Mansion. Yes it is now on the 3DS and it got ported/remade by Grezzo, the developers behind the N64 Zelda remakes on the 3DS. It's literally the same game you played on the Gamecube, but with some added improvements. The map is now on the touch screen so no need to pause the game to check it out. There's also a 2 player local co-op mode. This version also finally realizes the original vision the developers had for the game back then. Worth checking out if you want to revisit it or if this is your first time and don't want to fork over a ton of money on a GCN version of it.

And those are all the 3DS games I played last year. Did you play any? Thanks for reading and...

Wait, Luigi's Mansion is worth money?! How much? Where'd I put my copy?

I missed out on Fantasy Life unfortunately.  Just slipped through the cracks.  Also skipped out on Luigi's Mansion.  I love the game, I just didn't feel the need to play it on the 3DS.

It took me a few tries to get into Luigi's Mansion but now I love it. I wish they did more games.

I played Fantasy Life a while back and thought it was very cool. I really want to go back to it and learn some more jobs.
