Blog a Day #24

Hello everyone, how are you?

Today we are gonna step away from video games for a bit and talk about anime. I really love anime. There's diferent types of anime for different types of audiences. I like watchin different kinds of anime aand try to watch some whenever I can. I watched a lof of anime last year and I haven't finished some of them but really enjoyed what I saw. Here is the anime I saw last year...

Umaru

Himouto! Umaru-chan: The anime is about Umaru, a high school girl and she's pretty much an ideal student. She's good looking and get's good grades and she's popular. But she becomes the opposite once she gets home. She becomes lazy and does nothing but play video games and just fool around. It's a really funny anime but it has its fair share of heart-warming moments too.

March Comes in Like a Lion

March Comes in Like a Lion: This one was very interesting. This one follows 17 year old shogi player Rei Kiriyama. Rei has no friends nor a family so he lives on his own. He became a professional shogi player at a young age, during middle school but he decided to pursue this life instead of going to high school. It might not sound like the most interesting anime to you but it's such a good anime. The artyle is so good as well, definitely one of the most intersting artyles I've seen in a while.

DURARARA!!

Durarara!!: This one is pretty cool. This one follows Mikado Ryugamine and he moves to the city because he longs for an exciting life and attends the same academy as his childhood friend. However little does he know that he gets more excitement than what he bargained for. I don't want to spoil it. The anime has different characters and many of the episodes follow the plot from the perspective of the different characters and how their lives connect them as well as the events that go on in the city.

Blood Blockade Battlefront

Blood Blockade Battlefront: This one was a really fun anime. This one follows Libra, a crime fighting organization that tries to keep the peace in Hellsalem's Lot, which used to be New York City. They fight a number of bad guys from your average bad guys to the paranormal. It's a really action-packed anime and was definitely one of my favorites last year. The manga was written by the same person who worked on Trigun as well.

JJBA Stardust Crusaders

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders: This is pretty much one of the most popular anime series out there right now.. This is basically the third story arc to the anime and the manga itself and follows high school student Jotaro Kujo, grandson of Joseph Joestar. Jotaro is in jail bcause he injured 4 men and claims that an evil spirit is possessing him, but in reality it's a Stand. A Stand is a physical manifestation of his fighting spirit, basically a Persona from the Persona games to make things more simpler, or complex depending on how familiar you are with both. I haven't finished it yet but I highly recommend it. Speaking of Persona...

Persona 4 The Animation

Persona 4 The Animation: Yes, there's an anime based on the game of the same name. Anime adaptions of video games can go either way as in they aren't true to the source material. This one however is really good. I really enjoyed seeing an animatd adaption of one of my favorite games and something about it reminded me of JJBA, at the very least Stardust Crusaders. I can definitely see the similarities. If you enjoyed the game, definitely check it out.

Soul Eater

Soul Eater: This one has a pretty interesting hook to it. This one takes place in the Death Weapon Meister Academy located in Death City. The academy students are known as weapon meisters and their weapon, which can transform into a human. It's such a really good anime actually. I haven't finished it myself but definitly check it out. It has its serious moments but also its unexpected and hilarious moments too.

Persona 5 The Animation

Persona 5 The Animation: This one is self explanatory as it's based on the game of the same name. Not much to tell. It's a good anime but honestly liked Persona 4's anime more than this one. I did enjoy it though and it's pretty good. This one is only a sub at the moment and they aren't quite done with it, but if you're curious then check it out.

And that's pretty much all the anime I watched last year. Shoutout to Initial D, which I watch every year but felt I didn't need to post about it when I have a number of times. Thanks for reading and...

I actually watched an anime in 2018.  It was a remake of an older anime called Star Blazers in the US that I used to watch when I was a kid back in the late 70's and early 80's.  The new show is called Space Battleship Yamato 2199.  The first season was pretty good.  I think you can watch it on Crustyroll.

Are there anime versions of the other Persona games?

I'm watching DBZ with my friend Mark right now. There are so many anime shows out there now, I don't know where to start with something new.
