Blog a Day #12 and #13
Hello everyone, how are you?
A few days ago Nintendo announced during their direct that Mario Kart 8: Deluxe was getting dlc which will add 48 new courses to the game. These courses will be classic courses from past Mario Kart games, so they are basically going to be remade from the ground up. 48 courses is a lot, that's basically a whole new game if you think about it. We've ony gotten a small look at the list of confirmed courses and two of the that are coming back is Choco Mountain from Mario Kart 64 and Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii. They showed off a couple more but these are the ones that stood out to me the most. We don't know what the rest of the courses will be so I decided to look back at all the courses from all the previous games to see which ones I'd love to see. Before we start, I want to apologize since the images I found aren't really the greatest but are among the best ones I could find. Anyway, here are the courses I want to see remade....

Rock Rock Mountain is a course that debuted in Mario Kart 7. It's one of my most favorite courses in the game because it just has a little bit of everything. Racing on a mountain, through a forest, it feels like an obstacle course of sorts. That and the music is really good too, I've always loved that song. I don't think they ever reused it to my knowledge.

DK Pass is a classic from Mario Kart DS and one of my most favorite levels from the game. I always love the song from this track, especially the opening. Imean I suppose it's just a course with snow but I imagine they can spruce it up with MK8's engine.

Another good one from Mario Kart DS, this time its Airshop Fortress. Rcing through Bowser's Airship Fleet while dodging Bullet Bill's makes this among one of my favorite courses from the game. They did add it to Mario Kart 7 but I haven't seen it since. Imagine what it could look like in HD?

Dino Dino Jungle is one of the coolest courses in Mario Kart Double Dash. Like how can not racing among dinosaurs not be cool? Last time I saw it personally was in Mario Kart 7, so I feel it's about time we see this track remade in glorious HD. Plus did I mention racing among dinosaurs sounds cool? No? Well now you know.

Maple Treeway has always been among one of my favorite courses from Mario Kart Wii. I love how you are racing on top of the trees in the level itself which I always found really cool. The music is also really great as well. Last time I saw this course was in Mario Kart 7. Not sure if it's in Mario Kart Tour though. But this is one ofthe courses I wanna see back.

DK Jungle Parkway has always been one of my most favorite courses in Mario Kart 64. The whole aesthetic of this course to me just screams Donkey Kong Country. One thing I've always loved is that jump that makes you jump over the steamboat and racing through that wooden bridge. I really want to see this one in HD.

Banshee Boardwalk has to be one of the coolest tracks in Mario Kart 64. You're driving on a boardwalk and you see that Cheep Cheep leap out of the water and you see Boos hovering over you as you race. Then you enter this spooky building that has bats flying out of a coffin. It's a pretty neat level and the last time it was reused was in Mario Kart DS. We don;t have many spooky themed levels in Mario Kart so I think this one could be really cool.

Something that always fascinates me in games like Mario Kart is city themed levels. Like the mainline Mario games aren't really known for having cities, outside of Super Mario Sunshine of course. Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii has always been one of my most favorite levels from the game. I also loved that illumination effect that you had here as a light source. There's just something about driving at night that just hits different, I suppose that's why I love this track.

You guys know how much I love Rosalina that I was going to include this course. Rosalina's Ice World from Mario Kart 7 is one of my most favorite courses in the game. I love seeing the Comet Observatory from Mario Galaxy in the background. I mean yes, this is just another ice themed course but I want it back.

Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu are some of the coolest courses that they had in Mario Kart 7. I'm honestly surprised that they didn't bother to bring it back or anything. I think maybe they can mash these two courses into one and during the final lap you can see the sun setting. With Nintendo Switch Sports coming this year, I feel this would be a neat idea to see this or these courses make a comeback.

One thing I always loved about Wario is his larger than life persona. In his history of being in Mario Kart games, his courses just keep getting bigger and better. We had Wario Stadium in Mario Kart 64, Wario Colosseum in Double Dash, Wario Stadium again in Mario Kart DS, Wario's Gold Mine in Mario Kart Wii, Wario's Shipyard in Mario Kart 7, and finally Mount Wario in Mario Kart 8. In the next Mario Kart game he's gonna have his own country or even a planet. I really think Wario Colosseum would make a great course to return, like it just looks so cool.

I've always loved trains because they have this sort of magic and charm to them. And I really seem to like deserts. Maybe because I mostly associate them with the old west. But there's just something about a train traveling through the desert that I've always seemed to love. Kalimari Desert from Mario Kart 64 blends those two together in perfect harmony. Mario Kart 7 had this course as well and that was the last I ever saw of it. This course is just so nostalgic to me that I want to see it back.

Waluigi Pinball. It's about time we got this course back. This has to be the most iconic level in all of Mario Kart DS. This course has you race on a giant pinball machine. How cool is that? This screenshot is from Mario Kart 7 and that's the last time I raced on it I don't know if they ever reused it for Mario Kart Tour since that's a game I never played. But seriously, I wouldn't be talking about this course if it was already in the game.

With how iconic it is, you know Nintendo is going to add another Rainbow Road. The question is which one will they choose to remake? The one I personally want is the one from Mario Kart Double Dash. One thing I loved about it is how you can see the Mushroom City course beneath Rainbow Road throughout the whole race. I always felt that was a cool touch. I mean yeah the newer iterations of Rainbow Road take place in space, so why not bring one that is more closer to home? I would also take the Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7 as well if this one is out of the question.
So those are all the courses I want to see in the Booster Course Pack. Initially this was going to be two separate posts but I decided to merge them into one. But I counted this as two posts since I really haven't had much time to write stuff. So I apologize for that. Anyway, what courses do you wanna see remade? Thanks for reading and...
