Blog a Day #17

Hello everyone, how are you?

Well not much to say but we are going to continue on where I left off with part 2, so here's the rest of my favorite PS4 games...

Persona 5

My favorite Persona game is definitely Persona 3. If you've been on the internet and are a fan of rpgs, you might have seen all the jokes surrounding this game at how it's the best rpg of all time or how rpgs weren't good till this game came along. While I don't think it's the greatest rpg ever made, it's definitely a great game. The gameplay is definitely the best in the series, and I really love the characters as well, I definitely think they are really well-written. Music is also really good as well. I'm actually playing through Persona 5 Royal which is an enhanced version of this game with additional content. Will it replace Persona 5? I'm not sure but we'll see.

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal is among my most favorite first-person games I have ever played. I played the Doom game from 2016 and I really enjoyed the hell out of it, Doom Eternal however improves upon the original game in every way possible. One of the biggest changes to the gameplay is the addition of a grappling hook which adds a new layer of depth and strategy to fights. It was really awesome just hooking on to an enemy and blasting them in the face withyour shotgun. The game is much more platform heavy as well. I never had a problem but I imagine many might not like that. The graphics are really great as well and I'm impressed the game can run at 60fps looking this good.

RDR2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is by far one of the best games I have ever played. Yes, the first few hours are a bit slow but what game isn't? But everything after that is just incredible. I love how big the open world is, yes it's pretty much the same map from the first Red Dead Redemption but it adds a good number of new locations and the towns and areas just feel much more lively with much more things to do. The game also looks great as well, there were times I just went out to admire all the beautiful scenery. The story is also fantastic, but what really makes this story so good is the cast of amazing characters. You can interact with them at various camps as the story goes by and it makes it feel like an rpg of sorts in that regard. The performances the voice actors did here with the characters they voice is just incredible, it really brings them to life.

Bloodborne

I have always heard of how Bloodborne is really good but the one thing that had stopped me from getting it was the fact that it was like the Souls games. I've heard how hard the games are but once I saw it on sale for $10 on the Days of Play sale then it was a wrap. The game isn't as hard as people make it out to be. I mean yes, the game is challenging but not impossible. I really loved the lore and the Lovecraftian themes of the game, I don't think I've ever played a game that touched upon those themes. The atmosphere is just amazing and the music is something else that just adds to that atmospehre and the environments that you will be going through. Bloodborne is definitely my favorite Playstation exclusive on the PS4 and definitely the best $10 I've ever spent.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Arkham Knight was the very first PS4 game that I have ever played, in fact this game was the reason I wanted a PS4 in the first place. I was really blown away once I finally played it for myself. The Batmobile, one of the most controversial aspects of the game ended up being one of my favorite additions to the series. I will say that I wish they didn't use it so often for puzzles and such. The gameplay has been tweaked that it's pretty much perfect and like the game suggests, you can "Be the Batman" and I agree. It's an old game but this game still looks incredible after all this time and can stand among games like RDR2 when it comes to graphics. It was definitey worth the wait after all these years and it's still my most favorite PS4 game.

And those are my top 10 favorite PS4 games so far. There are some games I still have yet to play, so there's a chance this list will change with time but only time will tell what stays and what gets replaced. What are your favorite PS4 games? Thanks for reading and...

Red Dead Redemtion 2 is such an astonishingly beautiful looking game. I always get lost in it though, like Skyrim and Witcher 3.

Bloodborne. Love that gothic horror look. I've got to go play it again. I didn't get it the first time, but I'll try again.
