Training in the Virtual Autoboot Camp...

I've played a handful of Tranformers games over the years, some were great and others not so much. I think there hasn't been that many good Transformers games out there because of movie games. For one good Transformers game, there's atleast 3 bad ones. I did enjoy the ones I've played, here are those games:

Transformers The Game

Based on Michael Bay's Transformers movie comes a game based on the movie from the movie based on the cartoon that meant to sell a toyline. I didn't have a PS3/360 at the time so I had to make due with the Wii version. What I played was an enjoyable open-world game based on the movie. I liked exploring in the game, the robot to vehicle mode play was pretty good and the game didn't look bad. My only gripe was that the melee moves were mapped to the Wiimote using motion controls, that wasn't the bad part. The bad part was that you controlled the camera using the remote's pointer which messed up the camera if you wanted to use a melee move. I would of enjoyed it more had they would of used the Classic or Gamecube controller because they could of used the second analog for camera movement.

Transformers War For Cybertron: Autobot Version

I didn't have an "HD" console at the time and I wanted to play War for Cybertron so badly and I didn't want to play the Wii version because it was an on-rails shooter. I had to make due with what I had and got the game on the DS. There were 2 versions on the DS and I opted for the Autobot's version since my little brother had the Decepticon's version. I found the game to be quite enjoyable, it didn't look so bad for a DS game. The game had you follow the Autobot's in their mission to take back Cybertron from the Decepticons. The game also had a large variety of Autobot's, more than the big HD version of the game. What was cool is that you didn't have to buy the other version to play as the Decepticon's, since it had a story mode to play as them. You did need the other version to trade content like bot's from version to version, and some sort of data disks that work like mods. It was basically Pokemon with Transformers and that's why I like it. It even had a multiplayer mode, I think High Moon made sure no one missed out on what was probably the best Transformers game at the time.

Transformers Prime The Game

My little bro got this for his bday lasy year on the 3DS nad he loved it. He let me borrow it when he was done and I can say it was a very good 3DS TF game. It's based on the show of the same name but with it's own plots that aren't in the show. The game has you play as all 5 of the main Autobots, not sure on Decepticons since I haven't beaten it yet. It also controls far more better than the DS games. The transformations are so fluid and each bot has it's own set of moves. It has enough content to keep you playing for a while aside from a multiplayer mode. I may check out the Wii U version when I see it on sale.

Transformers: War for Cybertron

In 2011 I had at long last tried the game on the PS3. I was hesitant at first, I could of bought it at any time but decided to take the plunge and buy it. I loved the DS version and had a feeling I may like the game. I did love it, infact it didn't dissapoint me one bit. You played as both factions in the campaign, you could play any side you want first but a friend told me to play the Decepticon's first since it sets up the events for the Autobot's. The game was probably the best Transformers game I ever played, the game looked really good minus some graphical hiccups and loading times. It was mostly shoot bad guys, get to check point, shoot more bad guys, new objective, shoot more bad guys, mini/boss fight. The multiplayer was pretty good too, I liked it better than Uncharted's multiplayer. There is plenty of modes, though it's sad because the multiplayer is pretty good but there isn't that many players. I was lucky enough to find some matched to get myself the platinum for the game. Aside from some flaws, it's actually  pretty good game, better than those licensed games. Certainly a treat for Transformers fans.

Honorable mentions: Transformers The Game/Revenge of the Fallen DS

My little brother had these games on the DS and was the only way to get out Transformers game fix at the time. The games were pretty good for what they were. The first one had you play as your own custom Transformer that you could name and paint, you could only choose froma few vehicle modes at the start till you find and scan more. It even had a pretty good multiplayer mode. The RotF one is one I don't remember much about but remember enjoying it.

Those are my favorite Transformers games, do you have any? And no I have yet to play Fall of Cybertron, I wanna buyt haven't been able to, I'm hoping to get it on the PS3 sometime this year or next year. Thanks for reading and Till All are One!

Only Transformers games I've played are the ones I reviewed last year.  Prime was decent, but Fall of Cybertron was fantastic.  I hope you get to play that one someday.

Fall of cybertron was good, but I prefer the first one. I think mainly because the first one felt like a huge nod to the old g1 cartoon. I also prefered the game mechanics of the first more then the 2nd.

In the end both games are incredibly well made and both games make up for almost every bad TF game that was made before it. I'd also like to mention Transformers Armada on the ps2. It was highly enjoyable and it had a pretty nice customization feature for your weapons.
