Halloween Tradition: Luigi's Mansion

So I won a haunted mansion...

I used to post this at 1up every year but not that many people here know my Halloween Tradition. I meant to post this yesterday but I was too into the game I play every year. This is the game in question:

                            Luigi's Mansion

I play Luigi's Mansion every year since 2003 as a Halloween tradtion and I try to see if I can beat it in one night. I do beat it in one night, usually in less than 2-3 hours since I know where everything is and memorized the whole game. I also know how to suck up painting ghosts without breaking the vaccum stream so it reduces the time.

It took me a bit more time to beat it this year since my Gamecube controller seems like it's on it's last legs, I had to wrestle a bit with it to get it to work. I would use the R button to suck up the ghost, but it would continue to do so after I had stopped pressing the button for some reason, the same goes for the L button. It was a bit of a pain because you have to stun the ghosts before you can capture them. I hope this doesn't interfere with my yearly playthrough of Twilight Princess that I do every year since that one is coming up this month. I may play the Wii version instead.

And like I do also every year on Luigi's Mansion, I try to beat my previous score and it seems like I did, or the money count doesn't go any higher than 120,100,000G, I'll have a photo of my previous score next to this years on a later blog. I also found this interesting tidbit about Luigi's Mansion that I found strange yet funny:

            DYKG Luigi's Mansion

If they call that scary, imagine the original version they had planned. I would have loved to play the original version to see how it was.

Boolicious Treats:

I remember I said that I wouldn't update my PS3 to the latest firmware because the fear of it bricking. I took that chance and updated it, so far no problems. It would have been scary if it bricked. I did update and now I'm back on PSN after a month of being absent. I did it so I can enjoy my new game that after trying to resist Cary managed to convince me of trying. I'm having a blast and been a while since I got a new PS3 game since Injustice this year.

Being away from the internet was actually doing me a favor because that means I got to play Pokemon Y alot. I love it, if I had a GOTY list, Pokemon X and Y  would be it. If it isn't GOTY then something is truly wrong in this world. Infact, the only time I put the game down is when my 3DS needs to recharge, and everytime I'm not playing Pokemon Y is time wasted.

So today Nov 1 is Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. It's a day when in Mexico and some other countries honor the dead and celebrate and remember those that are no longer with us. I think it's something like that. It's also a reason I didn't blog yesterday, since it's sort of Halloween related anyway.

So what have you been up to? Did you have an awesome Halloween? Thanks for reading and later.

my HAlloween was pretty boring.  But candy was still eaten.

I really need to jump on the Pokemon bandwagon if the game is that damn good.

It's that good, you need to get it.

I loved the original Luigi's Mansion.  Have you played the sequel?

The ending to the sequel is just adorable.

Finally played Luigi's Mansion this year just before Dark Moon came out. It's a great game, but how do you regain hearts quickly. I ran out and couldn't gather enough to keep going. I'm doing something wrong, I'm sure.

Both are great, I've played the first so many times, the sequel is a game I've yet to beat. If you are taking about the first Luigi's Mansion, you can usually find hearts by shaking furniture, pots, or by catching atleast 2-3 regular ghosts at the same time. Hope this helps!
