Released: 2009

Systems: Wii, DS, PS3, Xbox 360, Mac Os X, Windows

Developer: IO Interactive, Magic Pockets

Publisher: Eidos Interactive, Warner Bros.

This action adventure game stars some very adorable ninjas. There are six playable characters in all (once you rescue them all), each one having his own unique abilities, weapons, and skills. You can switch between these characters at any time. The Mini Ninjas are tasked with defeating the Evil Samurai Warlord, who has captured innocent animals and turned them into evil samurai warriors that do his bidding. Along with weapons, magic can be used to deal out more damage. Statues can also be found throughout the game to unlock achievements. The best part of Mini Ninjas are the protagonists, each one being very different in many ways. Hiro is best with magic; Futo is big and slow, but can roll into enemies as a giant ball; Suzume uses a flute to stun and mesmerize enemies; Shun is the stealthiest, his weapon being a bow and arrow; Tora is the most energetic one, using tiger claws to attack enemies; finally, Kunoichi is the most acrobatic of the group, and uses a spear as her weapon. The game has been praised for many things, but the big thing is that it's a family-friendly game that features some of the most adorable ninjas you'll ever see.

I played the demo of this games and thought it was fun. It's definitely aimed at younger kids but it managed to amuse me.

Really? Well we've all heard of normal ninjas, but mini ninjas are more rare.

This looks cute, but what does Dr. Robotnik want with feudal Japan? I mean forest creatures inside enemies? His fingerprints are all over this.

You're right! Perhaps he's even stuffed Sonic and Tails into those evil Samurai warriors! Mini Ninja Heroes!

I had this on the 360. Good game with a great sense of humor. My wife absolutely adores this game.

It's a good family game. Who ever thought that a ninja game (of all things) would be good for the whole family?

I forgot about this game.  I should get this one.

You know, when you said you were going to write about a ninja game every day of BaD, I thought to myself, "I wonder if he's going to write about stuff like I-Ninja or Izuna or Ninja Taro or Mini-NInjas."  Well you've covered all of those so I'm impressed.

i reviewed Mini Ninjas when it first came out.  It wasn't AMAZING or anything, but it was a fun little silly 3-D romp.  Plus it was nice to be able to play a regular ol' kid-friendly 3-D platformer.  You really don't see as many of those nowadays.

There is also a MIni Ninjas iOS game that I reviewed more recently.  it's a continuous runner like so many others, but it does have a higher level of quality about it.

Random fact: Taki from Soul Calibur is a cool ninja.  I think she's neat.

Glad I covered all the essentials. I may also do a "5 ninja games to avoid," so look for that soon. I heard about the endless runner game and it sounds really fun and addicting.

Taki, huh?

Taki is such a good ninja that she won't even let me see that picture you posted. :)

I was always interested in this game. I'd like to do an achievement run with it.
