Element4l Review

In a game with no enemies, physics and logic are the driving forces in Element4l.

Element4l is an innovative platformer that focuses on how well you know your physics, as well as your ability to adapt. You have control of the four elements, and the only enemy is your own environment. The four elements are bound together, and are on a quest to shape life. This is no ordinary platform game—you must use logic, reasoning, and physics to traverse through the levels. This is an experimental title that’s wrapped in a wonderful soundtrack, composed by MindTree. This game challenges you to rearrange your reflexes, and figure out which element is best suited to each obstacle.

Storm Review

Ah, nature! Full of peaceful beauty and decimating power!

I am almost, sort of, maybe certain that I am not an idiot, at least not all of the time. I have my moments, though, and Storm gave me quite a few. Pitting my wits against two-dimensional idyllic nature scenes that desperately need my intervention to move fruit from one place to another was an enjoyable and challenging experience until the game’s physics and controls ruined everything.

Push Start to Continue Episode 6: New Hair Edition

You see this haircut?!?

Holy crap! This has to be PStC’s most random episode yet!  We start off with some talk on Tomb Raider, Red Dead Assassins (or Assassins Creed 4), and Monday Night Combat – Segue into some Ninja Turtles talk – get serious with some talk on games in/as education – and then finish it off with some weird Sims social experimentation.

Backloggers Anonymous Darksiders Part 3

We're done!

I'm gonna keep this brief because frankly, I'm not feeling so great. We finished Darksiders. We had more fun talking about it than we did with the back half of the game. We get into some pretty weird things to talk about like sound effects and... horse physics. Maybe my fever started earlier than I thought.

Newton vs. The Horde Review

Occasionally humorous dialog can't prop up this mundane venture.

Physics simulations have always made for fun playgrounds; whether you're just tossing objects into stacks of blocks or using the elasticity effect to rocket an object across the screen, it's mindless destructive fun. Logic would dictate that tossing in a few game objectives would make for an instantly enjoyable game, but with Newton vs. The Horde the resulting product is the exact opposite.

MotoHeroz Review

More fluid dynamics would've gone a long way for this 2D physics-based racer.

MotoHeroz is a game that anyone can easily get excited for. Developed by RedLynx (the team behind Trials HD), MotoHeroz swaps the darker tones for a brightly colored and lighthearted style that's brimming with personality. Releasing on the nearly defunct WiiWare service, it has very little competition, which makes it all the more notable. Though notable, MotoHeroz only manages to hit a single note, which grows tiresome very quickly if you're not enamored by its brand of physics.
