Azure Striker Gunvolt Review

Full disclosure, there are no electricity puns within this game review.

I would call Azure Striker Gunvolt two things; one would be the perfect replacement for a lack of a new Mega Man X/Zero title, and the other being a very meaty 3DS eShop release with high production values. With easy to understand gameplay, a fantastic graphical style and a slew of abilities and optional gear to collect, Azure Striker Gunvolt is a great call back to the 16-bit era of action games and an all around great game despite some design flaws. It even comes with the free game as well!

ModNation Racers: Road Trip Review

Did you know that flash memory-based cartridges could have atrocious loading times? Neither did I.

Rush job releases are pretty commonplace for the launch of a system, but you don’t typically see first party games falling peril to this. ModNation Racers: Road Trip stands in stark contrast to the norm as it carries a wide variety of issues, ranging from slowdown during races, to hefty loading times, to unresponsive menus, and rubber-banding AI.

PS Vita Looks the Worst in a Bad Week for System Sales in Japan

The cantankerous PSP struts past that Vita whippersnapper.

The Media Create numbers that track video game sales in Japan for the week of January 9^th through the 15^th are out and present some pretty poor numbers all around. The drop in sales across the board is probably due to the post-holiday retail doldrums. The PS Vita sales numbers are getting the most attention for falling behind the PSP, which isn’t making way for Sony’s newer handheld.
