UPDATE: "Irate" Customer Threatens Best Buy Employees, Responds

Man threatens employee after messing up his Modern Warfare 3 pre-order.

In now the second story about Modern Warfare violence, a man in Colorado became very angry after his local Best Buy screwed up his Modern Warfare 3 pre-order. Lomorin Sar, a 31-year-old man, started asking employees what time they were done working so he could shoot them in the parking lot as they left. Then, for good measure, he threatened to blow up the store.

Steam Accounts Hacked

"Watch your credit cards," warns Valve.

Valve's download service Steam has been hacked and credit card information may have been accessed. Hackers have apparently broken into a database that holds user names, passwords, purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and credit card information.

Call of Duty Elite Issues Warrant Free Month

Players now have until the end of November to sign up.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer has been pretty smooth since its launch but the new Elite service has not. Users are having trouble registering, logging in, and accessing stats due to the servers being unable to handle the demand. Due to these problems, the Elite service will be limited until additional servers are added.

Kinect Sports: Season Two Review

Better luck next year.

I'm not really sure how they did it. Very rarely are sequels to launch games worse off than the original, but Kinect Sports: Season Two manages to be even less compelling than its simplistic predecessor. Not only have half of the sports been done better by Wii Sports, but the other half are so shallow in their implementation, they won't garner any of your attention or time.

Assassin's Creed Revelations Does Not Have Always-On DRM

This is a change from Ubisoft's recent treatment of its PC titles.

The PC version of Assassin's Creed Revelations will not come with always-on DRM. Ubisoft confirmed to Rock, Paper, Shotgun that players need to be online when they first start the game, but that after that, no connection is needed.

Different things usually happened with Nintendo in two completely different continents. While the NES arrived in 1986 in North America, Japan was already in its third year of Famicom glory. Nintendo’s then-released Famicom Disk System introduced the battery back-up save feature, eliminating the need for long over-drawn password saves. Games like Metroid and The Legend of Zelda greatly benefited from this innovation. It was also this year that Nintendo saw fit to release a sequel to Super Mario Bros, appropriately titled Super Mario Bros. 2.
