Madden Team Poaches MLB The Show Talent

Kolbe Launchbaugh leaves SCEA San Diego for Tiburon.

Longtime developer of the famous Madden NFL franchise, Tiburon has seen quite the turnover this year.  Earlier this spring some top level talent left the studio and were replaced by Cam Weber as GM of football products, Roy Harvey as executive producer, and internally elevated Mike Young in the role of creative director.  The team is still patching holes and is now adding some significant talent, as Kolbe Launchbaugh has announced via Twitter that he is leaving SCEA San Diego to become creative director on Madden NFL.

Xbox 360 Update Tomorrow will Have Some Content Missing

YouTube and TV providers missing the update's launch.

The big Xbox 360 fall dashboard update is finally coming out tomorrow and I personally blame my OCD tendencies for being so excited for it. Announced this year at E3 2011, the update includes Bing searching, YouTube, Live TV and EPIX, among other features. Luckily there is an alternative baseball game series out there to play - MLB Power Pros - a favorite of mine on the Wii. Microsoft and Konami decided to bring this cartoonish series to Xbox Live Arcade as MLB Bobblehead Pros. Their most recent title, MLB Bobblehead Battle is not anywhere near the quality of MLB The Show, but it still proves to be enough fun to kill tons of time.

Verlander to Grace Cover of MLB 2K12

It's a much deserved accolade after an amazing season.

Jason Verlander had a year for the books this past season with the Detroit Tigers – a season that may end up seeing him as both the American League Cy Young and MVP winner.  But both of those pale in comparison to the award bestowed upon him yesterday by 2K Sports: Cover athlete for Major League Baseball 2K12.
